Looks like Buffalo is correct about the doors, my original research at Hallatrow in the early 70s confirms it. Of interest, the base of the window is 3'6" off the ground, and the window is 5'2" high, 3'6" wide on the extension.
Interpreting drawings I did nearly 40 years ago is a bit daunting....
If you want to get the chimney correct....

Double plus good model.
Another dystopia worth a peruse was Road to Nowhere, but don't let them see you reading it....

Looking to the future, my current layout Clutton is getting nearly 30 years old. So where next? It's a big layout, so something smaller. BLTs don't do anything for me. So to get more in, means going down a scale. Thing is, can I build in 2mm? This project is about seeing what I can do and can I make it work for me.
It's amazing what can be left out.

I make it that the sections are about 17.7" long, not quite as big as I'd imagined them to be. Thanks for the reply Tim.
-
How do you store the sections when it's not in use Tim? It must be quite fragile. Can you give a description/post some piccies of the test track when it's put away please?

Regrettably with the demise of "model" shops, exhibitions are the ONLY place you can get to see products before you buy. I choose exhibitions based on the traders that are there, rather than the layouts. Railwells is not a trade show (like Scaleforum, ExpoEM), but it's still a good show.

Railwells is always the challenge, at least you didn't get there with the trolley!
Are you going to carry it upstairs or use the lift? I'm sure when I went, Clutton went up the stairs.
-
Oh yes, there is a surprising amount of room. Just have a look at some of the smaller locos, a pannier is positively roomy. I saw a chip inside an 04 diesel, now that was small.
A challenge before Camrail!

OK, how are you going to squeeze this into Clevedon.....

I wonder too....

Coming together Captain. Nice urban feel to it.
-
Yes, but the shed at Wells is still standing, in a public place as well!
-
Interesting. What period are you thinking of running it in? Pictures of trains at Camerton are rare indeed.

Well, I just posted a comment - in Firefox - which didn't take, so now I'm fed up.
I'll type again - in IE8 - a diffeent browser.
You lot don't want much!
Just took some photos, but now find I can't attach them to this blog. Just as well, as they look rubbish up close, like most of my modelling!

That retaining wall looks good, what's the origin?
Good South Wales atmosphere.
-
I expect the coupling rods don't match the axle centres. Quite a simple modification, however, should we have to do this?
-
Yes Andrew, there is more to life than attending exhibitions.
-
Thanks for the comment James, but I couldn't continue it, that was the loss.
-
Really Andrew?
Three a year at most is what I do.
There is talk of three day shows again, that will eat into the annual leave.
-
You know what builders are like!
-
Overall I like it.
If I was to be critical (well you did ask), you've mentioned relaying the siding twice within the text, once would have been sufficient.
It is a great pity that the line was not preserved
-
Of course, you could put the spikes on the visible side, that would mean only half the number of holes!
-
Ballast Andrew? More like ash covering the sleepers in the pictures I've seen!
Help needed with station building!

Just seen this request, I may have some original research material.
