Doh!
-
looking good (as usual ) Andrew.
The Bachman prairie's running can be transformed by altering the coupling rods so they match the wheelbase, it stutters a bit before this mod.
-
I would suggest the roof is made of felt, looks like that in the pictures I took there in the 70s. Lead would be too heavy. I can't post pictures on your blog to show you!
-
Do you need a continuous run? Why not go round the full outside of the 10x8....
-
The box at Bodmin General is a replica, the original was demolished in the 70s. Nevertheless, they've done a good job of recreating it. It will be a very small structure in 2mm.
-
Somehow, they look more convincing than the transfers/RTR, and you've had the pleasure of them for 30 odd years. Hope you're not going to replace them with new vehicles?
I do like the pit props by the way, must get round to constructing some for the layout.
-
I took some pictures of the dismantling of the gasometers. Wasn't the bridge you modelled approached by a narrow setted road, a right angled bend between high walls? I used to go that way to get to Max Williams. So many memories.
-
Just checked the photos I took in my collection, I have photos taken from the bridge but not of the bridge!
-
looking good Andrew.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum

Unless it's a quick fix, it isn't worth doing any serious repairs at a show - the atmosphere is not conducive to good work. Leave it till you get home. After 36 shows I should know!
Well done on best in show.

That garage seems to have acquired a list in the walls Andrew!
Stations were big places, is that about 8' long so far?
-
One battery box is in just about the right place, but the vacuum cylinders are in the wrong place!
-
In 4mm there are etched brick edging from Mike Clark, I'm not aware what there could be in 7mm.
-
Funnily enough, they look exactly like the edging bricks seen on Duffryn Ardudwy on this thread!

Just checked pictures of Clutton, Presteigne and Newent (all William Clarke stations), and all show (as I suspected) Blue diamond edging bricks. Some were later replaced with slabs.
-
Good work Ray.
Only one first class compartment in these coaches, the Russel book shows the wrong picture for a B set - leading to the erroneous labelling of compartments. It's all to do with the window spacing!
-
Nice work as usual Andrew, when are we going to see it in the flesh?
-
Good result there. I like the way you just say I turned the Dapol wheels down not the easiest of tasks I would think.
Don
On the Unimat, using the taper slidefor the tread. The flange thickness reduced to nearer 2mm dimensions.
-
Do they do shows in Scandinavia? Why not invite the layout Mikkel?
-
Ratio track, that's going back a bit! I think they were polystyrene based, so no solvent in our armoury will touch them.
-
Never seen a K class lamp on a passenger train, but very common to see a lamp on the iron over the coupling.
-
I thought I could see an autocoupler of some sort - must be a trick of the light!
-
Not too sure about that K class headlamp on the pannier....
