  1. Production line of some commision models of Hornby Corridor tenders converted to 1928 condition, just finished.
  2. Mainly Trains LNER etch not perfect but near enough!.
  3. D49 chassis up and running. After some experiment I have filled the loco boiler above the motor with lead. As a result I have been able to fit A3 drivers losing the traction tyres of the front set and gained the excellent lining to both sets. I have fitted a A3 bogie slightly modified and lined bogie wheels . Etched brakes added to front drivers too. Pistons are also modified A3. A cheap and easy conversion. She pulls four compartment coaches without problems, slight wheelspin on five. Running is excellent now it has pickups on all four drivers. I will also run pickups to the tender, any suggestions re best method(s) of removeable connection welcome. Modified LNER Bachmann wagons. The unfitted version has had the door interior added. Both versions have Lanarkshire Models buffers added.
  4. From memory yes , I threw the label away before building, I did wonder too but no name on the instructions. Fairly easy build, some bits suffered slightly from poor line up.
  5. Current project a start to a revised current Hornby D49 . Thanks to Coachman re tips on the Valve gear on his build. At the moment teamed with a Bachmann K3 Tender. I will either use this or if i can get one a Step Side K3 tender in due course. A couple of wagons finished. ABS Mineral and ex NER P4 Hopper, 51 L ex NER Insulated Van and a Bachmann repaint of their current LNER Vans.

    Hornby B1

Thanks for answer. I will go for a 1041 onwards version onwards at least it will save buying a nameplate !!

    Hornby B1

Via LNER Forum I have established that 1040 onwards were Black lined Red of which only Roedeer was named. The first batch 8301 - 8310 renumbered from 1946 1000-1009 were also Black . Does anyone know ? Where they lined Red ? Again on the LNER Forum someone states that the earlier batch may have had different driving wheels and smokebox door to the Hornby version? thanks

    Hornby B1

Can anyone assist in suitable B1 name(s) version prefered or new numbers to allow a rename of a Black LNER B1 Roedeer which I have just acquired.
  9. The Wolf appears to have a cable? emerging from the boiler/footplate hopefully not terminal !!
  10. A response from TMC would be appropriatte ??

    Hornby B1

Mine is ok . have you checked it with other coaches? . If all the same, try a thin shim under tender coupling to make it lower.
  17. I cant see a ctach point in that photo BUT the ground signal is missing in second photo !!
  18. Sounds good , but its not in the above photo in question !!
  19. Well no one else has asked !! what is the difference in the picture from earlier ? I never answered becasue nothing is obvious !!

  21. Any update on current stock/new production for this year would be appreciatted
  22. I have some spares from the J94 etch to use.
  23. My first ebay bargain for quite a while. Picked this up for a song , poorly described as was the level of damage. On arrival I am pleased to say it runs perfectly and judging from the wheel treads has seen little use. As you can see on arrival it is filthy and looks a wreck. A quick clean and other than the obvious front bufferbeam I will have to make ( unless anybody has a spare for sale ??? ). The loco isnt that bad at all. Other parts required are new Cabdoors (I have a Peasholm etch) new tender rear steps again I have etched spares , Lamp Irons for the front end.New Cylinder draincocks for the chassis which is otherwise complete. Re glue some broken handrails and minor touch up on some of the handrail knobs and thats about it. As I have a spare single chimney from the wrecked A4 Hornby Silver Fox body, which also provided the cab for Wolf of Badenoch I have decided to make a single chimney version A4 which I dont possess. This will become Sparrow Hawk in due course. J94 is now in Black and awaits detailing and reassembly
