Early Hornby Great Northern version of the LNER A1 renamed and numbered
Sir Frederick Banbury
Solario
Real Coal and etched Fire Irons added to tender
Another battered NRM A3 converted to Singapore.
This was in poorer condition than my Salmon Trout . This required in addition to usual new chimney etc , repairs to boiler bands, lamp irons , doors & ash pan lever. The front steps were both broken off and missing, I made some new ones from a much modified etch from Comet. I have also made a Flaman Speed recorder bracket for the other side of the loco. The previous owner had even managed to break the feed wires to the tender drawbar as well !!
The Jubille 1st twin is coming along too one side finished so far (roof nameboards will be added last).

They maybe on a Loco detailing etch I think they do? How about MT 256??
The kit at some time resided in Hornchurch Shop a couple of miles from me . Never heard of the name of the shop or the maker before!!! that kit is a tad old!!

How do you fix this bogie into the bodywork . I have always wondered how to fit one and get it to pivot.?? Re the spud saga my Sentinel destroyed two with consumate ease on both occasions the nylon gears gave up the ghost after a couple of minutes. Mine now has a replacement Black Beetle bogie with brass gears much better .
Good idea re floor the thing weighs a ton . I replace the awful steps on mine with scrap etch and wire too. Never had problems with the roof on mine but its over 20 years old so the mould may have been better then.
Any idea which name you are building ? I have a 3mm HMRS decal sheet if you need it as the 4mm HMRS Version is way too big. Also the relevant Yeadon too
My sentinel build is here

Out of interest, where did you get info on interior of the Silver Jubilee? Did you use actual pictures?
Anyhow chap, keep up the great work....it's really fascinating stuff.. I love your layout too, is it fictional or based on somewhere?
Tom
I have a couple of interior pictures and the Isinglass plans. The layout is pure fiction

Hello to all
The N8 had larger wheels than the N10, and consquently larger splashers. The N10 splashers had a distinct step between the top of the splasher and the top of the sandbox.
Earlswood Nob
Good points I never realised/noticed N8 5ft 1 in , N10 4ft 7in wheels the model also appears ok for the N8 non superheated/shorter smokebox if the wheels match !!
-
The front smokebox layout matches the N10.
RCTS Vol 9A has a photo of 1930's numbered 1711 , roughly the same as the loco with the brass safety valve,it has a vacumn ejector on the side of your photo & Westinghouse pump, shedded at Hull Dairycoates .
Should look good with a bit of work.

No it hasnt . Its only 10ft x 8ft, but I managed to get quite a bit in. My first layout for over 20 years made a few mistakes re track layout:blink: but a good building experience .

Looks good . I like the Step idea. However I prefer the D&S approach of seperate ends a lot easier to build. I saw one of the Isinglass versionat St Albans as well. The one I saw has to have a brass roof rolled to fit , I presume this is the same? .
I luckily have a couple of the D&S versions so I wont be buying any personally.

Home /Distant ready for plainting on my layout
Bracket Signals first ready for priming
I have built two of these Bracket Signals . They and the Home Signals still await parts as I managed to either order the wrong parts and run out of others. I will get the last pieces at Ally Pally this weekend.

The signal is straight the table isnt !!
I am awaiting ladders for the next three.
I have refurbished this D&S Dia 20 Brake 3rd it was badly painted and built using superglue 20+ years ago. Stripped rebuilt using solder and in much better condition
