      Such a sad loss....

His work with Rob Burrow ( I'm a Rhino's fan ) and Stephen darby, will have such an impact against such a terrible condition.

I spent the weekend discovering that most of my supposedly matt paints were drying glossy.  Try that.

I suppose I could drive a few hundred miles up your way for an eye test and drop a tinlet off for you.  After all that would make it an essential journey.

I wouldn't care, I only need a couple of dabs for axle boxes and brake lever joint.

Of all the revues of her career, one I've not seen mentioned was something from the 90's.

Set in the 1920's and very Sherlock Holmes/Agatha Christie-ish in nature, with her as a well-to-do Lady of a Certain Age in the Holmes role and Neil Dudgeon as her chauffeur in the Watson role.  Anyone else remember it?

I know someone (a loooong time ago) who decided that the best way to seat a swann-morton blade onto the handle was to press the pointy end against his sternum...

Luckily he didn't initially press too hard, the pricking sensation told him it was a bad idea!

More fed up this evening as I have learned that our business is not to qualify for the £10,000 Business Interruption Grant. So six months and thousands of pounds down the drain. Is this pub the first in the country to be officially killed off by CoViD.

Our buildings expert uses tile cement/grout and taps it with a toothbrush to give the texture.

Looks OK to me when dry and painted.

PS Stay out of way of toothbrush owner!

A coarse grade "sand paper" about 120 grit has been recommended to me. Wet-or-dry types are reputed to take paint well.

however it plays hell with your knife blades when cutting

  11. Needs Costa to re-open.  I'm running short of wooden stirrers.

It is all the sub cv values that kill JMRI. It was never designed for it and the code isn't that efficient as it originally only needed to read 256 values. A full read of a Loksound 4 or 5 takes about 20 mins for me.

    3. BoD

It ‘seemed’ to take a lot longer than that.  I didn’t time it though.

What is the world coming to when they can charge £400 for a hair straightener?

    3. Hroth

      Hroth

A manufacturer will charge what they like, so long as it sells.  Dyson stuff is expensive, no matter what it does.

      Hairdryer: £300

      Cooling fans: £250 - £500

      Handheld vacuum cleaners: £200 - £500

      Upright vacuum cleaners: £200 - £300

They gave up making a washing machine because it cost too much to build.

It makes model railways look like the cheap option!

I stayed in a hotel where they had one of those cooling fans. It was so noisy, I had it turned right down - but then it didn't cool me.

    1. Hroth

      Hroth

Next thing, drivers will need a "good pass" at GCSE Maths (or whatever its called nowadays) to prove that they can cope with the concept of an "average speed" camera...

Its why you have an "Average Speed" setting on your white van computer.   Reset passing the camera, pull out to overtake get past the traffic then brake and dawdle until your average is back to the Delta by the next camera, stop if you have to. Its about keeping a clean license and sod safety.
