  4. has come to the conclusion that it's not possible to walk past a model shop without going inside. It's not possible to come out without having bought something either...

I've done nothing since about June last year, but today a 'lets go round the charity shops in Uckfield' trip has seen a Parkside GWR horsebox, a bottle of Plastic Weld and MRJ 252 purchased!

Not sure what you'd call them, but it's saving me 7 quid a day!

Looks like it! All a bit of a mess at the moment, but come the weekend I will locate the packet of chic block connectors that Sal removed from Leah's grasp the other day and neaten it all up a bit!

  13. Another layout, another frustrating evening failing at soldering feeds to track. I think its time to look into those pre-soldered fishplates...

    1. dseagull

      dseagull

It's not through want of practice, it is just something I've never been able to get to grips with - despite trying different irons, different bits, different solder - just one of those things, like performing brain surgery or enjoying rap music, that I seemingly cannot 'get'!

Kev: Thanks for the offer, I'm going to leave it for a couple of days and try again first!

  15. Ah, so according to various forum warriors, it's entirely my fault (as the only regular poster connected to the club) that we couldn't raise a team to go to Redhill today. Ho hum....

    1. dseagull

      dseagull

That's exactly what I'm doing... - everything used on the current shelf project so far, apart from glue and duct tape, has been reused from other stalled projects.

It was 'Forestall', I'd got another clue wrong... - the wife worked it out. As for cryptic crosswords, I've never been able to do those, even trying to do the Sun one using only the cryptic clues used to stump me!
