Some very good points, always a gamble, even with well known faults the 68s sold out pretty quick, and they rectified the issue not only by replacing the bodies on the first run but the second run was spot on. I think the Class 88 is a little different in terms of an issue with the lack of livery variation which is a bit restrictive, I’m sure when a new loco is launched it is always a risk. On a positive with this being duel mode running it will fit in on any layout and look correct with the panto down unlike previous electric release which don’t appear to sell well. I think it’s great that Dapol release so many numbered variants but they also have to be wary not to flood the market which I think this second batch of 68s has. I’m sure we’ll have an announcement in the near future and I wouldn’t be surprised if Dapol take the plunge as they seem to be leading the way in modern image locos and wagon releases by a long way.

Thanks, yes I did when I noticed they were sold out.

Had the same problem with one end, the screws have been over-tightened and probably stretched the plastic. Try gently pulling the body off at the same time as unscrewing the problem screw.

Obviously popular as they’ve sold out....

I guess if the retailer was asking for more then that would be an indication. Lots of outlets are still taking preorders so I'm sure there are plenty left...

What's the general consensus of the sound fitted models. I've only heard one but thought it to be a bit muffled ? Thinking about purchasing a 68008....

You might be lucky, but if it's like the Class 158 Limited Edition that was sold at the show it was sold out by early on the second day.

I guess it all depends on what you are after... I'd just like to see my Colas Class 70, seems to have been an age.... I hope we'll see an upgraded Class 166... in about four years time...

I wonder why ? Knowing how well the Dynamic Lines Livery sold and became sought after seems a strange decision. Unless it's because of all the criticism of a lack of a DCC Class 158...

Probably would be if it was released now, but will be out of date by the time it does get on the shelves !

Latest DCC on board locos from batch two seem to be taking their time.... Anybody heard anything ? Notice DCC supplies are out of the Class 68 decoders otherwise would have purchased a DCC ready model.....

That would be interesting having already released the final Class 66 to be made 66779...

I've had the decals fitted to both of the power cars and they look superb... I wonder how long it is until they come off lease !!

Just had an email, saying collection from Dec 4th.

The DCC Supplies shop was preparing to attend the show on Friday so fair play if they got the bodies to Warley for replacement. I'm sure we will all have an email in a day or two. I'm hoping to pop over to the shop in the next day or so to pick mine up and will advise with an update.
