  1. I already have plenty of Dapol GB FEA’s which are nice models and were very good value when first released and the Dapol twin sets of MRAs were also nicely priced at £42.50 a twin set, personally the Revolution JNA’s may well be better detailed but at £56 a wagon are far too expensive in comparison to the similar Dapol wagon. I do also run my Bachmann and Accurascale Castle Cement tanks behind my GBs which look very nice. I think coal hoppers look like a meaty train.
  2. I would have liked a run of some GBRf HYA coal hoppers, but it’s never materialised, plenty of Freightliner and EWS hoppers. And they’ve made so may GBRf 66s with very little to run behind them. Thankfully at least Dapol have made some GBRf spine wagons and MJA box wagons...
  3. I'm sure you have to turn it to 90 deg and then rotate it to lock it in. Sadly its no good without the pin.
  4. it’s a Modelu Class 66 driver in Hi Vis..... https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/finescale-figures/railway-and-lineside/1998-present-rl/loco-drivers/page/2/
  5. My first 66789 DCC fitted had serious wobble and derailing issues. This was replaced within a week and fortunately the replacement runs fine and it arrived intact. Ironically it’s now lost two axle boxes in normal running over three months. Found one and presume the other is in a hidden section. To be fair Hattons sent out a pack of replacements within twenty four hours and I re-fitted although I did open up the hole out in the AB slightly to allow a slide push fit. I placed the glue on a pin and touched the end of the axle with the loco upside down and through the bottom of the bogie to avoid getting any on the hole. Then took the decision to remove the body to fit a driver. I used some paper to spring out the handrails and carefully slid the body off the chassis. The difficult bit was getting the lower ends of the handrails back into the holes on the body, but perseverance and now all good. Had to touch in a couple of places with white paint but nothing major. Runs really well just wondering whether I’ll loose any more ABs. I think the model is a step forward and sounds like I am one of the lucky ones.
  6. In the R3510 HST pack there was a set of embossed GWR logo letters included on a transfer sheet. I would like to know if anyone as a set unfutted that they don't require. Happy to pay for them and cover postage. Thanks.
  7. Currently there are only seven diagrams so they have spare sets. This may increase when life gets back to normal. These are the sets out today.. 43186 + GW05 48115 48114 48113 49105 + 43153 Plymouth / Penzance diagram 43154 + GW08 48124 48135 48122 49108 + 43092 Plymouth / Penzance diagram 43042 + GW03 48109 48108 49107 49103 + 43016 Bristol TM / Gloucester / Taunton diagram 43094 + GW09 48127 48126 48125 49109 + 43098 Bristol TM / Gloucester / Taunton diagram 43187 + GW10 48130 48129 48128 49110 + 43170 Plymouth / Penzance diagram 43093 + GW04 48112 48111 48110 49104 + 43188 Plymouth / Penzance / Exeter diagram 43158 + GW06 48118 48116 48117 49106 + 43004 Plymouth / Penzance diagram
  8. The sets are currently running in these formations according to GWR gen:- 43005 + GW01 48103 48102 48101 49101 + 43097 43194 + GW02 48106 48105 48104 49102 + 43041 43042 + GW03 48109 48108 49107 49103 + 43016 43093 + GW04 48112 48111 48110 49104 + 43188 43186 + GW05 48115 48114 48113 49105 + 43153 43158 + GW06 48118 48117 48116 49106 + 43004 43122 + GW07 48121 48120 48119 49107 + 43198 43154 + GW08 48124 48135 48122 49108 + 43092 43094 + GW09 48127 48126 48125 49109 + 43098 43187 + GW10 48130 48129 48128 49110 + 43170
  9. Thanks for confirming put my hand up....the photos now look conclusive....
  10. it would appear as though this is not the case and the coaches are as the last GWR release and have a NEM coupling mounted to the bogie for either the close or normal coupler to be fitted.
  11. I also use gaugemaster and swapped F2 to F8 for tail lights on / off and it's the same on my Class 68s, didnt think you could use the CV allocated to F5. Also when you reset the CV for F8 remember to set the CV for F2 to zero . I can't recall what the CVs are without looking at the document but it has worked on my 66789 which was a DCC factory fitted.
  12. It's a pity they don't do a twin pack like Dapol with one powered and one dummy, would be great double heading on a container train and hopefully cheaper than two powered locos......
  13. Sorry I didn't realise he was specifically after a DCC sound ? But I'd still go with a DCC fitted, whether it be sound or not...
  14. For the extra £15 I would strongly recommend a DCC fitted model is the best option. Saves fiddling with the body side detailing bits.....
  15. Perhaps I’m one of the lucky ones as well. My Freightliner and Collectors Club Model both arrived safe and sound. And very impressed with both of them, lovely models. In terms of the major faults although vIsual checks at final inspection should pick up some defects it may have been that the bogie issue has materialised during transit as a stress fracture following the over tightening of the screw. I
  16. Ok mate, thanks for clarifying. Id be surprised to see that Implemented on these older coaches but it would be a positive step forward. And looking back at the CAD images it definitely looks like this is the case on the three different types of coaches due out. But looking at the pictures of the painted samples in December it does not look as though it has been implemented. And it is definitely NOT on the Kernow GWR sleepers.
  17. I’m sure my coaches came with coupling hooks fitted and close couplers in the box..... Like these ?
  18. The last release of GWR Mark 3s with slam doors all had NEM pockets. The initial release did not. Presume the bogies are the same so should be NEM fitted.
  19. Try F7 and onwards you may find the missing functions in there...
  20. The motors do make a slight whirring when they start but they're not noisy. In terms of your function buttons that's quite interesting to read as the leaflet does not detail F2 braking function (which the Bachmann Decoder leaflet does) so Directional Lights End B (on/off) is actually F3 and so on. With F6 Day / Night actually F7.
  21. Hi Arran, Was this a new batch of 40' One Containers or a rerun of the existing number. Thanks, Martin
  22. I used a Lenz PluX 22-pin Silver Loco Decoder and some of the functions didn't work. I will be intrigued to see if yours does. I've actually purchased a Bachmann one and fitted it today. The actual function buttons don't correspond with the documentation !! Unless its my Gaugemaster !!
  23. Not sure what you ended up with but the Bachmann decoders are now available. I purchased a 10322 Lenz PluX 22-pin Silver Loco Decoder but all the functions don’t operate as Richard said it probably needs reprogramming. I’ve decided to order the correct decoder and sell the Lens one off.
  24. I've recently added a decoder and Express Model Lights to my Lima Fag Packet HST, whilst it operates correctly it only runs at half speed. I've fitted a Bachmann 36-553 decoder to the power car. I wondered whether anyone else has had a similar result and found a solution. I've reset the decoder to factory settings just in case I had made a programming error.
