  1. On the proto is the objective of the Halo lights only to come on forward whilst the loco is stationary, without headlight ?
  2. The Gaugemaster Prodigy is not able to control the F2. Agree, you will probably have to configure the decoder. Best thing to do is turn off the lights and walk through F1 to F6 and see what happens. On mine you turn all off and pressing F3 turns the Halo lights on only. I will try and scan the page that came with my DCC ready loco. As I said previously DCC supplies are selling a preset decoder.
  3. I did a comparison this afternoon between the IOAs and the MJAs models and the buffers and shanks just don't look right on the MJAs. They maybe correct in scale but the IOAs look more realistic in size to the rest of the model. Shame as it's quite a nice wagon otherwise. Compare them against the buffers on the 68s !!
  4. DCC Supplies are selling a TCS EU821X 21-pin Direct Fitting Decoder 1674 that has been pre-programmed to suit the Class 68.
  5. The DCC on board ones should be available on 13th March. How many, one will see....
  6. What's interesting is the photo of 68006 has a really wonky plate on it, I don't want that one !!!
  7. I was actually referring to the nameplates being wonky and dissatisfied customers sending then back, not DRS sending them back for refunds....
  8. It has been said before on an earlier post that DRS should be shipping them out from today. Hopefully after inspecting them, which will save them on refunds for return postage should defective ones be sent out. It's a lot of money for a sub standard loco if the nameplates are wonky or glue spue is evident......
  9. I have written to Rachel at DRS and she confirms the models will be despatched from Tuesday, they didn't arrive when they should have, I did mention the wonky plates and the glue spillage so hopefully someone will check them before despatch, but wonder whether there woukld be anybody who would know what to look for...
  10. Yes thanks, but they are currently DCC ready being fitted with decoders to become DCC on board.. Either way, just hope there are enough after all the returns...
  11. Hopefully for DCC Ready models they are being checked at Dapol for nameplate issues as they fit the decoders and hopefully test to confirm they do run correctly before shipment to suppliers.
  12. Well I've discovered my 66546 DCC Sound Loco is a real bad example. Found that the bogie hardly swings without catching. Thought it was the coupling box but even when trimmed makes no difference and the body is far to low on the chassis. I presume it's a case of a small washer or something ? Is it supposed to ride on the stepped diameter or does that sit in the hole as well ?
  13. It's a Dupont paint Will do my best, will need to do some digging
  14. Saw the drawing for a 158 this morning, it's GWR Green full gloss, there is no RAL number, the paint manufacturers number is NCS-8010-B70G. Which is probably not a lot of help.
  15. Isn't Teal Green the colour Midland Mainline sets were painted in ???
  16. The Dapol Digest statement definitely sais its a four function decoder being fitted, which is probably adequate for most modellers.
  17. Aah, but you get a couple of containers thrown in
  18. The Dapol IDA's have shot up in price as well, similar type wagons and now at £37 per set.
  19. I guess they are now priced at about the same as a JNA or IOA..
  20. Interestingly Hattons were suggesting a sales price of £40, but also, and presume an error, said £50 !!
  21. Good to see a lot of local model shops getting promoted
  22. An upgraded 59 will really sell, so I'm sure Dapol are on to a winner here, and if they do make some Hoppers they will clean up nicely, good for them...
  23. Yes have to agree, I have a duff GB 73 that doesn't run on DCC, because I had it so long Hattons wont change it. I've ordered DCC fitted for my 68's so fingers crossed...
