Happt Boxng Day. I hope everyone is enjoying the festive period. A big thanks to my small band of followers. I'm thinking i need to make a new year resolution to post more regularly, looking back i keep seeing big gaps between posts and thinking of stock i gave forhotten to post about. Onwards and upwards.

The tree is coming on nicely, Rob. I seem to remember when I made a tree from wire armature many many year ago, I used Das air drying clay to cover it. It was very easy to build up the trunk with thicker layers and then use a thick slurry for thinner branches. A though on doing a woods could you get away with doing a handful of trees for the front, then you won't really see the trunks of trees at the back, so maybe could just model the canopy further back?

I've just caught up on the Yabbadabbadoohdah gp and they mentioned his latest stat of 1000 laps led in a season. I feel some of these "records" are somewhat artificial. The season has more races than ever now so obviously teams/drivers will be able to rack up more stats than before.

I had the misfortune of riding a couple of CX500s when I was dispatching. I had to rent after my RD250 got stolen (yes, I dispatched on an RD250! It was great around town, just meant I missed out on any long distance drops.) The first CX ,I had to add 5 minutes per drop as it had no side stand and was a right barsteward to get onto the centre stand. I took that one back, got the next one who's brakes required you to predict 5 minutes ahead of stopping. I did manage to run into the back of a car in the rain on that one when I hauled on the wet front brake and not a lot happened, luckily low speed. Took that one back too and insisted on a CB250 (the only other type of bike they rented). That one got totalled by a tw@t-in-a-box jumping a red light and T-boning me. I got one broken ankle and enough free time to get myself back into my regular line of work. I wouldn't go near another CX with a bargepole. Edit: just noticed t wat got filtered out.

That's a shame they've not refined the bogies. Those tie rods to the bolsters are way too thick. Not a patch on Hornbys 7ft bogies IMO.

Looks like they were popular. Were being the operative word, they're all gone. I didn't want either, but a Toad and SR 8 plank fell in to my basket while I wasn't looking. As FWW said, rude not to at those prices.
