  1. What browser are you using? I just tried it on my Android phone using Chrome and the Desktop Site option is still there.
  2. You are thinking of it from the wrong starting point. The brute force attacks happens after the hacker has broken in to your system ,obtained a list of password hashes and now has a big file on his own computer that he can hammer with dictionary attacks, brute force attacks or rainbow tables at his/her leisure.
  3. Depends on the password complexity requirements of the underlying systems. Many will not let you repeat same/similar phrases or do simple incremental changes of numbers.
  4. In this case they have got it wrong, it is a purely fictitious livery for that van.
  5. Just to continue the clarifications, LNER's colour is referred to as brown red oxide by Tatlow, the differences in colour and name were down to constituent components in the paint.
  6. Maybe in BR days it was called Freight Stock Brown, but for the LMS the colour in their official 1935 painting schedule was called "Mix 2(A/B) Bauxite Paint". Mix 2 was undercoat, Mix 2A was 2nd coat and Mix 2B was finishing coat, but all were called Bauxite, not surprisingly because it contained bauxite residue to get the colour. Hardly surprising that Phoenix named it correctly.
  7. Can I clear up a bit of confusion here - there is no "desktop" and no "mobile" version. There is one version of the site that has what is called Responsive design. The site automatically adjusts it's CSS (style sheets) according to the resolution of the screen or the device that it detects and hence looks different on mobile devices and PCs. However - I can make have the "mobile" experience on a PC if I want by shrinking my browser window thus: Full HD screen PC: Browser shrunk to minimum width: Same browser, same page, same posts, all I did was shrink the browser window.
  8. How about a nice Midland Compound in crimson?
  9. It seems to have remembered my Ignored topics. Not only that it actually works properly and completely hides it from the threads listing, much nicer.
  10. Can't say I can see much difference here. Be thankful it's not defaulted to italic font. It's always going to be a tricky balance catering for every single persons viewing deficiencies. For example, I cannot read white text on black background that some sites have for more than about 20 seconds without getting some sort of retina burn-in and black/white stripes in my vision when I look away from the screen. On a positive note, that was nice, I took a screenshot and pasted it straight in to this reply, no need to save as a file and then upload any more.
  11. It's not something like having the old HTTP:\\ address instead of HTTPS:\\ is it? Edit - ignore that, just checked my own Adblock settings and it is only domain based, not including the http/https part in the whitelist.
  12. Yes, the indexing is getting there. Last night my pics were revived back to 2016. It's got as far back as 2014 as of this morning. All we need is a little....
  13. I spent ages looking for that switch last night after turning off everyone's sig from someone's post! I too was not expecting it to be under the settings for my own sig. It used to be under Ignore Prefs on the old version IIRC.
  14. They do, but don't expect it to be wallet friendly. I queried whether I could get just a roof from the 4 wheel coach kit to go with some Shirescene sides I have. It was just as effective buying a whole kit off eBay in the end.
  15. 3.5 million posts to index, 1000's of user logging in and complaining that it's slow or they can't find something, thus creating even more posts to index. I'm surprised the server hasn't just given up the ghost. Where's Marvin when you need him?
  16. It will become clear if you read the thread and this this post in particular.
  17. Not that it matters now (unless you are on another forum where they still use the older version of software), but you could right click the post number, copy URL and then do it as a hyperlink. That's the way I always did it, hence liking the new Share icon.
  18. You only need to look at some people's sigs to see that it wasn't enforcing 3 lines before Mine only had 3 lines of text with two blank lines separating them. When I went to redo it before Andy fixed the double line spacing, it enforced 3 lines this time. I'm fine with that, I'm certainly not going to be hassling him about it.
  19. A link to the actual post was far more useful than someone saying "go to post 312" which then took forever to find. The Share This Post function is thus, IMO, much more useful.
  20. Have a look in the sig settings, it's now restricted to 3 lines, 6 links/URLs and 1 small image. Unfortunately it only applies to anyone who edits or creates a new sig and doesn't retro apply,
  21. Thanks Andy, looks it it has worked retrospectively on my above post!
  22. It's still do-able, I have trimmed mine down to 3 lines. Meanwhile, whilst the other gazzillion members catch up, I've turned off viewing of sigs altogether. Given some of the novella style sigs on some people's accounts, I'm all for the streamlining of them. It's not an extra line as such, it's extra white space after the paragraph., just like the "normal" style in Microsoft Word. It can be quite irritating when you are used to inserting extra line feeds manually. I've noticed that this hasn't just affect sigs either, a lot of thread content also now takes up a load of space due to the new style format and have mentioned it in the Features Wishlist thread.
  23. Not so much features, as a few "nice to haves"; 1) Some new themes, perhaps at least one darker one. 2) Change the default font not to have any whitespace after each paragraph.
