  1. Not that unusual in itself, but I noticed that it says what looks like Midland Main Line under the Intercity logo. Was this done to all of the MML HSTs back then? St Pancras by Rob Boultbee Jeffreys
  2. This picture of the previous release of the model on the Hattons site seems to suggest that it does. it's actually fortuneous that these questions have been raised as I was looking at this yesterday and I was wondering if the lack of a first class stripe was accurate? https://www.hattons.co.uk/69087/dapol_2p_005_111_mk_3_excutive_buffet_10258_loco_hauled/stockdetail
  3. Or someone who wants to build a helix to the moon!
  4. She's fast, beautiful and a real rarity.... Derby Technical Centre 1974 by Geoff Dowling
  5. It's weird seeing a coach where the first class section is in the middle as opposed to it being at one end. Was that feature unique to these units?
  6. Nice one, I've even found a site that has a pretty comprehensive description of the CBI Impact Europe train. https://europeresist.hypotheses.org/2120
  7. I wasn't familiar with this station and searched Flickr for more pictures of it and I can't think of another station whose atmosphere has been ruined so much by its "preservation".
  8. I have a suspicion that these two may have being doing some MGR work... 20128 Helsby by The Messenger Boy
  9. You're not suggesting that a retailer might be listing something as a bargain that actually isn't? Shame on you...
  10. Rails have these in a Flash sale £169.95 for a triple pack https://railsofsheffield.com/collections/Heljan-oo-gauge-newton-chambers-car-transporter-triple-packs?_kx=XWBkhjWquBOAgjDRUFoeGmghza-PPqAKzIb3pca0PyfqnSFePN1n7xZw98DdvMB7.RXkVMS&utm_campaign=New Rails FLASH SALES&utm_id=01HM179AAGA281ZX82QXZE4060&utm_medium=campaign&utm_source=Klaviyo
  11. There's an article in The Telegraph about the Warley/Hattons apocalypse. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/01/12/death-model-railway-ageing-enthusiasts-force-closures/
  12. I've just noticed today that there is a TV series on the That's TV Freeview channel called Trainspotting which features an hour's footage footage of the railways in the 1960s. Today's episode was called Waterloo Sunset and was unsurprisingly about the lines out of Waterloo from 1958 to 1967. There was lots of nice footage of the various Spam Cans and their cousins and even some footage of the USA Dock Tank. I don't know what is the source of the footage, but there's going to be some future episodes about the other regions. The next episode is Steam In The Midlands Monday 15th Jan 13:05 and then Bewdley to Blaenau Tuesday 16th Jan 13:05. Unfortunately it seems that there are eight episodes and most of them have already been shown. 😠
  13. And it looks like there's quite a few of those Sainsbury's Beef containers on the train as well.
  14. Perhaps they just want a bit of a gap between the release of Heljan version and the EFE version to give it a chance of selling well ?
  15. This is utterly shocking news. I wonder if losing Bachmann sales has had a bigger impact that they expected and I guess that Brexit has probably had some impact as well, but I would have thought that the sheer size of their business would have made them immune to most of the ups and down of the model railway business. If they can't survive then how are the smaller retailers coping I wonder?
