Hi John,
Looks really good.

That is absolutely stunning! Top marks, what method have you used for the grass on the embankment out of interest?
Kind regards,
Nick

Doesn't it impart some degree of rigidity into what is, after all, a key component of the wagon?
Having built four of my own Tim and removed the webbing on each occasion I haven't noticed any difference, the floor is quiet thick. Parkside container wagons though are a different ball game, as the plastic webbing there does really firm it up.

Or in other words Chris, the poor thing took a wrong turn at Wadebridge and then got lost!
Lovely photo,

So have you used the same wire method John? Certainly looks rather nice.

What that video really needs John is Thomas the Tank Engine backing music! "Ratty and the long shunt!"

Cheers for that.

Lovely model. When did these wagons leave service then?

I think Eridge is pretty basic these days - my fault again - so great to see such a spacious reconstruction under way!
That's the wonderful think about our hobby, as we get to recreate something that otherwise would be either a photograph or short film clip at best.

That does look good Rod, really nice work chaps.
-
Excellent stuff there John, Dave's comment at the start is a cracker!
-
Nice bit of lead there Pugs. Could you provide the link as to where you got it from?
Regards,
Nick.

It's nice to see the layout in full view. It's also good to think that I have the same sized footprint for my own layout!

Nick

Interesting thoughts there Graham.

Bit of green sawdust on there John and you will be well away! ;-)
Well done, looks really good. I will look forward to seeing it at Scaleforum, not long now!
Regards,
Nick

It's interesting to think that the layout is only 9ft long, I suppose the illusion is created from peeping over the chimney tops and the eye being lend along the length looking through the gaps.

The signal box certainly looks at home there Tim, well done it's really beautiful!
A* for effort and attainment!!

Will it remain out on the circuit? I've only seen it once! :-( Such a nice layout.

Nick

Don't lean over too much Tim, it might take your eye out!
Nick.

Finish it the best you can if you still don't like it swop the wheels back to 00 and ebay it. You might be surprised!
I'm sure on ebay it would go for a decent price once completed, bit of weathering always seems to bump the price up.

I'm most impressed Frank! Good old British engineering!

Great work Frank, just out of interest how much have you saved building one?
Kind regards,

Adding length to a layout visually gives it so much more presence. I'm sure the additional board will make operating it more interesting too.

So working on this idea Tim, a Beattie Well tank could also be done as it has a similar set up.
Certainly given me a couple of ideas.

Nick
