  1. Its a TC, the TD had the rev counter and speedo in front of the driver. All TC's had wire wheels The picture in the link below is of my dad's TC, both he and I used the car to drive our newly married wives away from the church 30 years apart https://plus.google.com/photos/108276737182059493519/albums/5625953284202843409/5625953591160328162?banner=pwa&pid=5625953591160328162&oid=108276737182059493519
  2. Indeed, it ended up in 50023 but it put a conrod through the block.
  3. Except an A3 already exists whereas a DP2 doesn't. While DP2 looks similar to a Deltic I presume the internal framing is substantially different requiring a new shell?
  4. Some lovely work here, just be careful if you start getting into any of the PHD steps or Extreme Etchings/ Lazerglase components, they are that good and make such a difference you will want to do the whole fleet, I have spent more on detailing mine than I spent on the original loco!
  5. Fingers crossed that they make it rolling again, I would only have 4 more years of tax on the Land Rover. The annual road fund licence currently costs me 20p a mile as it only does 1,000 miles a year!
  6. I always like a nice Cut and Shut job, cracking modelling as ever Sean.
  7. Will watch this one with interest, Ripper Street always impressed me too.
  8. Looks better every time I read this thread, it also happens that I am be on Holiday in Bideford week after next so will work on Mrs 37114 and try and pop in on the 25th.
  9. Looks great chaps, so much nicer than the reality of today!
  10. Some interesting projects there Jo, especially like the cooler groups.
  11. I presume it was the Diesel Gala at Swanage this weekend. That 101 does look the business.
  12. Hi Peter, The second option will probably look a little more realistic, it is rare to find a road running parallel to a tunnel mouth, even at Kemble there is a reasonable gap between the tunnel mouth and road: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=kemble&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45645796,d.d2k&biw=1024&bih=651&wrapid=tlif136699786194310&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ei=Ybt6UaH2L6nT0QXei4B4&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg
  13. Nice to see this at Trainwest and have a quick chat with Ray, a lovely layout.
  14. I don't know, but I have a pack of bearings in my spares box that still bear his price label!
  15. Max Williams of Bristol was always an aladdins cave, I used to badger my parents to take me there, even though it was the other side of town.
  16. Plus Dennis in Warwick... Also Leyland is equipped to make virtually all the models in the DAF range these days
  17. The photo of the blue roof is interesting, also confirms the well was blue, some photos of completed models I have seen have the solebar downwards painted black.
  18. I have just seen your exploits with the TCV, I hadn't realised the height was so out! The hinges are somewhat fragile on the end, one of mine has broken since completion. I would be interested in taking it off your hands my only problem is if I put it next to my other one how it will show up that I havent corrected the errors on my one...
  19. The annual bill for my Land Rover worked out cheaper than Railway modelling one year (when I bought a few locos etc), I don't include fuel as it generally gets used on trips that would have been in another car anyway (eg tip runs) Tax - £180 MOT - £65 (Including a couple of bits required to pass) Insurance - £108 Oil etc - £25 Total £378
  20. There was an article in a recent Rail Express on modelling the aircon MK2's, think it was November 2012 issue but not 100%
  21. I Used to use a Relco but have now converted to feedback controllers which are so much better, but at the end of the day there is no substitute for properly cleanded track, ideally using IPA not anything abrassive.
  22. Spain went first (unless Pegaso are still around)? Dennis are hanging in there (just) but struggling to think of any other british truck makers.
  23. 37114

    Dapol 'Western'

This looks fantatsic, I feel a BFYE and some renumbering/dominoes to do 1023
  24. I think this is a great layout, so far I have only managed to see it the once at Stroud but was very impressed, as Marc says more photos please!
  25. Can't wait for the Commer PB, I feel a high roof British Telecom conversion coming on!
