  1. Fabrice Thanks. Somerset Lane has just been dug out of store in order to spruce it up ready for Bristol O Gauge Show on 31 January 2016. http://www.bogg7mmexhibition.com/
  2. There are some excellent 16t mineral shots in Barrowroad's recent blog entry see http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/116/entry-17003-bristol-barrow-road-20th-november-50th-anniversary-of-closure/
  3. Remember that the 7mm Ambis components are now only available from Hobby Holidays.
  4. I know that this is a popular thread among Forest aficionados. Ron Fisher ('45669') has posted a thread in the 'Prototype - Preservation' section that may be of interest. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/104152-dean-forest-railway-a-few-pictures/ There is a link there to his Flickr pages where there are some recent FDR shots BUT there are also some colour and b/w shots of the two Severn Boar (brake van) railtours that ran in 1964 with 16xx panniers. They are absolutely superb so, if you have missed his post, go and have a look.
  5. Nice! If you want to link to a particular post in a thread. Go to the post and click on the '#12' (or whatever) and a link appears in a pop up box for you to share - copy and past the link into your post. For example http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/72157-locomotives-illustrated-classes-26-27/?p=1059333
  6. Just in case you missed it - Have a lookie here
  7. Sharpness Docks? There were not too many Bagnall 0-6-0DMs built. If it is Sharpness Docks then the loco (Works No 3151) is now preserved and is currently at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.
  8. Paul Martin of EDM did a one-off repaint of an Ixion Fowler in maroon which Chaz (of Dock Green) purchased. Having spotted it at Telford in 2014, I went home and repainted my Fowler. (Mine is in Railmatch BR maroon, Chaz's loco was painted from a colour mix from a paint sample off the Ffestiniog's 'Myrddin Emrys'). There are a few other excellent repaints floating around RMweb too including Matt(Brianthesnail)'s one on Bury Thorn and Sons. There is another in a light blue which again really looks the business (I'm afraid ! don't have a photo of that to share though). Good luck with whatever colour you choose, its a cracking little loco and much improved with a good paint job.

  10. Great video Martin. I love such tutorials. Hopefully you'll put some more up when you have the time.
  11. Every time I passed Jim's stand at Reading today, he seemed to be selling an O2....... So far I've resisted but there is Telford and Reading again in December to navigate yet. Love the build, great job (or should that be proper job!).
  12. It was great to see BTS in the flesh at Hardwicke today. There is a wealth of detail on a layout that is also interesting to operate. All in a compact 12ft too. Superb!
  13. Matt. Good to meet up today. Best of luck with BTS, lets hope it reaches the wider audience in due course.
  14. Marc My missus will kill me if I came home with another layout................. I'll come and have a chat though as I'm there all day too with our club stand.
  15. Thanks but now I am wondering whether it is wise to Google 'Sabrina's hub caps'. Probably not.... Last week, I was lent a couple of photographs from one of the members in my local model club. The photos show (I believe) the chaps father's collection of road vehicles sometime I guess in the mid 1950s. His father was (or worked for) a building contractor in Bradford. I'll ask his permission this week to post them on here as I would like to know what the vehicles are. There is a light pick up (I'm not sure what model, maybe a Ford), 2 Austin lorries (though I maybe wrong here on one of them) and a Ford Thames lorry all in a striking yellow and black livery. The light pick up has hub cabs but they are painted. A very interesting couple of pictures none the less. Well I'll leave the hub caps on the Morris alone for a bit and see what reaction I get, if any, from the visitors at the next few shows. Maybe if they know about hub caps in the 1950/60s, they'll remember Sabrina too.
  16. The latest addition to the RC fleet was deemed operational today if not completely detailed. It has yet to be fully road tested on the layout but it did pass its trundle around the kitchen floor so hopefully there should not be any problems. The conversion follows what Giles has done before and what I did on my Ford Thames. If it looks 'wet' it is because a MIG cold grey wash had just been sloshed on and was still drying when I took the piccy. I am a little behind where I had hoped to be with The End of the Line's first exhibition (under my ownership) fast approaching so wipers, the cab interior, a driver and a new number plate etc will have to wait. There is another Morris Commercial fast on its heals and hopefully this too will be ready for the end of the month. The other Morris will have a 7 plank (ish) tipper body eventually for variety but I expect it'll run with its original one for the Yate show. Once I'm happy with the weathering I'll touch in the indicator lights and door handle and dull those hub caps down a bit too.
  17. That Fowler is looking good Matt. I like the livery too. How big are the roundels going to be. Self printed transfer film from Craft Computer Paper is an option. It can be a bit shiny but if the roundels aren't too big and you are going to weather over them then they may be OK.
  18. The 6 comp BTK kit (refs 7C027E/7C027P) is on the Slaters website, its just under GWR Bogie Coach Kits.....
  19. Very nice Giles, though sorry to hear about the gears. I must get back to my JLTRT class 37. It got shelved when I bought a layout and had to refocus and change direction slightly..... Thats a very tasty looking maroon liveried loco behind the 37 in the latter part of the video clip too.
  20. Love the forest pictures! By any chance do you have any more from that day of the Marsh Sidings? (i.e. looking the other way from the view taken in the last picture posted)
  21. Nick Oh, I agree, that does look confusing, there is only one +ve connection on the Rx41d. I've not used the Rx45-5 so I would e-mail Dave at Deltang for clarification. See http://www.deltang.co.uk/email.htm or call the supplier from where you purchased the Rx. A quick Google didn't provide an answer either. Sorry I can't be of more help but best be safe than sorry. I understand that Dave is very good at answering e-mails.
