  1. Would it coast forever? None of my other sound locos do it, when they reach the slower speed setting the exhaust beats pick up again.
  2. I notice when it is running and chuffing away that if I decrease it a speed step the chuffing sound stops. I have to press F1 to get it back.
  3. Have you not read the warnings not to buy from Modelmaster Jackson Evans?
  4. Old thread resurrection. I have been getting verification codes texted to me over the last few days. I have logged into my accounts (5) and none require a code. I do use 2 step verification but it has only been needed if I delete my cookies. Reading the above posts I will go along with the incorrect phone number scenario.
  5. Granville Manor arrived this morning. On opening the box everything is intact on the loco, no glue marks, only thing I could spot was one cab handrail just short of the roof which will be sorted at the weekend. It took just short of two hours to read all sheets on decoder pro, (my Zimos took around twenty minutes), and my only change was the running number and to turn off dc. Running was a very smooth start and gradual acceleration, no slowing on curves. Stopping using F2 was smooth as well, noting the differences between heavy and light loco, (F5 & F6). The sound did not go off when on the turntable and the polarity changed, so the stay alive is working. I only wish the stay alive that comes with the Zimos would have managed just that. I am well pleased with it, but the rest of my locos on the shed are wondering what this green thing is that has just turned up.
  6. Testing... ebay...ebay... ebayebayebay... Yes, it's ok to say ebay on here without a major catastrophe happening.
  7. Television stardom had gone to his head.
  8. On my fiddle yard boards I also run my bus connections through them.
  9. I have not cleaned my track for several years since rubbing a stick of graphite on it. I only re-touch it up with graphite where I have been doing any work on it. I never suffer from non runners or jerky locos. Am I storing up trouble?
  10. World famous Flying Scotsman involved in collision on Highlands visit https://www.northern-times.co.uk/news/world-famous-flying-scotsman-involved-in-collision-on-highla-328150/
  11. What is the purpose of the smokebox LED board?
  12. Manufacturer is not spelt manufacture, it has another 'r' in it.

  13. I have an old Hornby pug that never falters, I'm not saying my track is perfectly laid but the use of a graphite stick has done away with the need for 'stay alive' for running purposes.
  14. No, what I was trying to say is that they don't even keep the loco sound going for the split second the turntable goes over the polarity change gap, and that if they did then I would be happy with just that. I don't see their purpose, they behave no different to the locos I have that don't have 'stay alives'.
  15. I only have the 'stay alives' as supplied with Zimo MX644 and MX645 decoders. I would be happy if they just kept the sound going when the polarity changes on my Heljan turntable.
  16. As I was coming out of Central Station a couple of weeks ago and crossed over the road to go into Clayton Square there is a kiosk with no door. A street camper rose from his nearby sleeping bag, dropped his jogging bottoms, backed into the kiosk and deposited slurry on the floor, pulled his bottoms back up and got back into his bag.* This was at 10.00 am in full view of all who were passing and eating at the outdoor cafe. *No toilet tissue was harmed during this act.
  17. In Liverpool city centre they use the telephone kiosks.
  18. I once bought a pair of sidecutters from Wilkinson's to replace a pair i had just had stolen. Back at work I used them to cut a piece of 6mm cable, they felt like a hot knife cutting butter. I then noticed the cable was still intact and the jaws of the cutters were still open and the handles closed. I think they had been made from lead.
  19. I use a Heljan turntable but only in a 'dead end 'position. I found that trying to use it with through roads would result in not being able to align both ends of the deck again after turning 180°, it was almost a rail width out. I have read of others having the same problem. Other than that I have had no other trouble with it.
  20. I am hearing a lot of people start their response with 'yeah no'. Recently, I asked someone took a tumble... 'Are you ok?' They replied 'Yeah no, I'm alright' Talk about being indecisive.
  21. I have just received an email from Hattons... The non sound is £239.84 I replied with a cancellation.
  22. Wow, that took me back over 60 years. It was great being a kid in those days. I ate cereals for my breakfast, dinner and supper to get those freebies. As soon as a new packet was bought I was rooting through the contents for the free gift or cutting the box up . The frogmen that went up and down in the lemonade bottle, the submarine that submerged and surfaced using baking soda. I had a wall full of animal heads from the back of Cornflake packets, Shreddies Treasure Maps, Shredded Wheat Moon Rovers, the Rice Krispies Haunted House and luminous ghosts. I remember sending for a 'Stanley Gibbons' stamp collectors set advertised in one of my comics, 1/- it was, it had a stamp album, magnifying glass, tweezers, trays to soak stamps in for whatever, a bag of mixed stamps and two books of colourful stamps from all over the world. I took them all out and stuck them in the album then got fed up with it and swapped them for something. A while later my mother asked me about it as she had a letter saying quite a bit of money was owing. Well I didn't know what approvals were. She wrote back and said it was their own fault for sending them to a child.
