  1. They will also want paying, adding to the cost of running the site.
  2. Three of these would do me nicely. You have the parts.
  3. I have recently found in my loft some Precision Paints Company paints (some unopened) I bought in the '70s. A good stir, a ball bearing put in the tin and shaken and they are good to go.
  4. I picked up my coaches during the week and my only criticism was the overly large gaps between the coaches. The fitters in the carriage shops found some EZ Mate couplings* in the stores and worked NYE butchering them to fit in the NEM pockets. *Bought years ago from Hattons, 12 pairs for £2.00
  5. I leave a couple of times a week then drift back when I've got nothing better to do. Don't look at the overpriced models, there are plenty of new wagons priced around £10.
  6. These can often be found in plentiful growing near the play areas in children's parks. Has anyone found a modelling use for them?
  7. I wonder if the Oxford Rail pre-orders will still be honored or will it now go through the Hornby tier system. I note it has the same item code. Should I expect a cancellation email from Hattons
  8. I still have my '67 copy of this, also regularly played. I saw them twice in Liverpool about 20 years ago, first time as a small band and a few months later with a full orchestra. 'You Set The Scene' gave me a right shiver.
  9. It's here, 2022 Christmas Card thread....
  10. An autocoupler that works similar to Dinghams are sold under the name Flippem Automatic Couplings .
  11. I think I read the sound was being supplied by Youchoos. They have a sound sample on their site.. Steam Railmotor
  12. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32829992655.html
  13. I recently bought a replacement handset for my Prodigy Advance² and noticed the encoder is not indented like on my original Prodigy handset which was beginning to fail. Hopefully this is an upgraded type. I have since fitted a replacement encoder to my original handset, from Ali Express as Gaugemaster would not supply one, which was also not indented and it's now working fine again.
  14. I bought this as a single in 1969, I much preferred Christine singing it over Etta James, who is also a favourite of mine. I think Etta over egged it. R.I.P. Christine, you were perfect.
  15. I have not checked my local clinic as to whether they still do it. On my first visit some years ago they would not syringe my ears due to my history of having holes and perforations and they referred me to the audiology dept of the hospital where they used microsuction over two sessions and then gave me the all-clear on my eardrums. Back at the clinic I had them syringed about 2 to 3 times a year and now after being comfortable with having water in my ears I do them myself for a few years now. I prefer the eardrops with peroxide as they ones with olive oil or bicarb do not seem to work for me. I bought one of those hypodermic syringes with a nozzle with 3 jets in that does not spray direct, from Amazon or eBay for a couple of quid. I now do them about every 2 months. I do it over the bathroom sink with the plug in and the crap that comes out is awful at times, once there was a moth.🤢 I have suffered with ear problems since childhood. When the doctor used to syringe my ears I could feel the water running down my throat. When I was 17, I was having weekly treatment at a hospital clinic for an ear infection then they admitted me for 2 weeks during which I had some treatment on my nose under a local anaesthetic, it felt like a whitney punch up my nostrils crunching bone then they flushed it out. Ear problems have not been as severe since. The microsuction left me with tinnitus in one ear which I have got used to and can ignore. After all that I think my hearing is still good. I wear custom moulded earplugs with 25dB attenuation when playing or listening to live music. Recently at my local railway station I heard a tinkling sound on the opposite platform, I shouted over to someone who had just sat down on a bench to check they haven't dropped something, it was his house keys which had fallen out of his pocket.
  16. I bought some a good few years ago from a trader at an exhibition. The web is only cut on one side and the rail doesn't slide through the chairs on the other side. I still have 8 lengths of the 10 I bought. As you said, cheap rubbish. Don't bother looking for it.
  17. It always seemed to contain a bit of string from the floor mop,
  18. I remember 'Bonanza' being cancelled that night. What that had to do with it I don't know.
  19. I would gladly chew on a pair camel keeper's underpants and break my Hornby embargo for a Hornby produced Lickey Banker over a KRModels one.
  20. I looked forward every year to Wigan, but after this years exhibition I had already decided it was to be my last.
