  2. Couple of renumbers using the excellent Railtec Transfers here from me!
  3. That is very interesting. I use 4 digit addresses for my loco roster taking for steam the first and last wo digits of the loco number and for diesel and electric using the first two digits as the class number and the last two of the loco number as the individual identifier. Therefore Co-Bo D5705 = 2805 for example When I recently received 'ROCKET' that left me in a quandary as my Stirling Single has already taken 0001 so (after the fiddly change to an ESU micro Next 18 decoder) I went with 1829 for ROCKET. I wonder if I could have used the 2 digit address of 01 for ROCKET and my ESU ECoS would not have confused that with the 0001 of the Stirling Single? Not easy to just go and try at the moment! Many thanks! Simon

    New Hornby Rocket

All done - phew! A fiddly job with a satisfying result.
  5. Apologies if raised previously, I have 25093 on order from the new Heljan release schedule. It is listed as a Class 25/3, whereas my 'Platform 5' publication Diesel & Electric Register shows it as a Class 25/2. Which is correct and are there any external differences between the two sub-classes please?
  6. Why thank you kindly. I used 'Precision Decals' which are my favoured product for this application. Please feel free to check out my hybrid Class 85 similarly treated in the Class 85 thread!

    New Hornby Rocket

Just looked at an ESU LokPilot Micro V4 [54689] which is a 'Next 18' with a decoder harness ESU [51993] and it fits the barrel lid so should be ok. First off need to find out which way around the decoder should sit in the harness then the bit I am really not looking forward to, working out which wires on the harness connect to the six wires feeding the existing Hornby 6 pin socket and...… the soldering!
  8. Sorry Guy, No spares left. I originally tried hacking out the headcode panel with little success on an 85026 model. Then got another model, this time E3056 with headcode blinds and used that as a base taking some roof detail from the first one to create a hybrid and replacing the blinds for 'Dominos'!
  9. Got the renumbering done this afternoon. All finished for this one now!
  10. Here is one I had a hack at earlier - well one from two actually! Maybe not quite prototypical but is what I wanted - having the domino treatment. I do think Bachmann will rerun these at some point in the future.
  11. Got mine run in today and fitted an old Bachmann 36-554 decoder I had set aside for it some considerable time ago, now programmed on the ESU ECoS. Also changed the headcode as per my usual (even though not always prototypical - rule 1) to 'Domino' style. Just renumbering left to do now, will be choosing the only one of these I ever saw, 24142 which by that time was a Departmental Loco located at Healey Mills in the early 1980's.
  12. Same here. That is exactly what I did with my Class 15 ADB968000 in Sherwood Green. It can be dragged to where needed for mock carriage heating, whereas the Class 25 ETHEL will essentially be dragged within a (Class 37 hauled on my layout) moving train. Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, yes I know they are Class 97 or similar in they're heating capacities! lol
  13. Just wondering what the external differences were between Classes 24/1 & 25/0 as would love one of the latter to complete the fleet of all sub variants of both classes?
  14. I know not prototypical for UK (though one is in the NRM) I do wonder if Hornby may do these amazing coaches in the red and lined gold livery to match their streamliners in this livery. They did so with the previous old tooling and I am sure they would be a success in terms of sales, I know I would be in for a rake of them to compliment the full blue rake I have on order!
  15. Yes - I've done exactly the same as you have and share your sentiments entirely. Expect I won' be the only one (finger's crossed)!
  16. Received my credit card refund notification through the post yesterday. Whilst it has taken quite a while, it was a nice surprise to final reach the resolution I was hoping for. Good luck if you are still chasing similarly!
  17. The hum did settle down, Lenz Gold decoder will be fitted this morning!
  18. Got my 27104 running in right now. Lovely looking model though got a slight hum to it. Hopefully it will bed in and a lube should fettle it. Wondering if we might see the Class 27/2 incarnation from Heljan at some point?
  19. I have the 1970's Lizzy with smoke and sound (my 2nd ever loco as a 3 or 4 year old), proudly in the display case beneath the layout. Also the early 2000's variant which is lovely. Just received the latest rendition, what a thing of beauty. Duly run in on the rolling road and now fitted (dare I say) with TTS decoder. So in the best part of 50 year things have come round from 'smoke and sound' to 'flickering firebox and sound'!
