  1. +2. Downloaded fine from Itunes. Funny listening to it a 2nd time in the car I took a lot more in then when I listened at the computer. When can we expect the next one, will this be a monthly thing ?
  2. So...... I really enjoyed it. I look forward to forward to the next one. In answer to Phil Did you enjoy our first effort? Yes. Do you listen to other podcasts? Yes, a few on Geocaching How do you listen? In the car mainly. Although some times I'll listen while making a model.... Mainly I have to listen to what ever the Mrs is watching though... the car is my time. I await the next one.. do you have any sort of release schedule planned out?
  3. OK, update, It does play from the link this evening.. It didn't this morning... No idea why. I haven't listened to it all but itd good so far. Thanks Owen
  4. I do like a podcast, and listen to them regularly in car. I'd like to see this one added to Itunes so I can download it on my phone. Unless anyone can tell me how to download this to my Iphone, I'm sure there must be a way Thanks Owen
  5. I am interested in history of 'Sussex'. I knew 2 survived into preservation, but can;t seem to find any info on Sussex and its yellow livery. Also does any one know about the liveries of the Southampton dock loco liveries, I already have Caen in brown, but I see Guernsey will be produced in lined green ? Thanks Owen
  6. Dapol have annouced some new liveries on Facebook I may have to increase my fleet
  7. I think this may be one of my problems. I prefer roundy roundy layouts but don't have the room for one. I keep starting planks, but soon get bored as soon as the track is laid becasue I can't just watch trains go by. My other problem, I keep buying these books and bookazines (is that even a thing) and day dreaming. I have seen a Paul Lunn plan that is a roundy roundy, and only a small loop. Its in one of the Modelrail bookazines and is completely from Peco Setrack. I am very tempted to build it exactly how it is in the mag. Thanks for the replies. Its nice to know I am not alone
  8. I have and for some reason continue to buy track plan books. I love to read them and think "I could build that", or "if I built that I would build it in such and such away". But i never get round to building them, I've started a few micro's but never got much further than laying track. I build all the baseboards a couple of years back to have a go at building a copy of Phil Parkers Edgeworth, but that was as far as I got. I am just interest to know if others have this obsession with track plan books or is it just me and have you ever built a layout from a track plan or magazine. Thanks Owen
  9. I think Davknigh was talking about the Dapol/Model Rail Steam Sentinel, not the Hornby one.
  10. I noticed this as well. Its definitely mentioned as 'optional conflat wagon'. It also clearly shows a plug on the front as well.
  11. I think the same will happen with the Pecketts. The first 3 Sentinels sold out quickly and the later runs hung around longer. The first 3 pecketts sold out, but there are still plenty of the 2nd batch around, and there are another 6 due out this year which may mean some discouting. I'd love to see a six coupled Sentinel :-)
  12. A little bit more info on the BRM youtube vid. It appears from what Howard shows that the loco and matchtruck both sockets on each end. If you watch from 7:02 it shows the 48DS Owen
  13. Trying to work out if it will just be easier to get my employer to pay Hornby direct !!

  14. I guess they are hoping you won't choose and will have all 4 !!!
  15. 3 new 0-4-0 Peckett W4's announced this morning. R3702 Tytherington Stone Co 'Daphne' R3703 S&KLR ' Bear' R3761 Earl of Dudley's Round Oaks Works ' Lady Edith' Interestingly the last 2 on the list are being labelled as 'Open Back Cab' Thanks Owen
  16. Looks good. Here is a couple of links to Phil Parkers layout Melbridge Parva from 7 or 8 years ago. I'm sure it was in one of the Hornby magazine annuals its amazing what you can fit in one of these boxes http://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/2011/07/have-workbench-will-travel.html http://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/2011/06/plan-for-panel.html Owen Edit it was in Hornby Annual 3
  17. Industrial railways and locomotives of Yorkshire got published in October this year. I make that number 7 from Gordon Edgar in this series. If it is as good as his others it will be well worth having. My copy is wrapped up as a Christmas present so I havent seen it yet. Also recently published is Industrial Railway Locomotive Sheds a third selection by Adrian Booth through the Industrial Railway Society. Same as the above, the previous 2 books have been good, but my copy of this latest one is wrapped until Christmas so I cant comment on it. Owen
  18. Watching it again this morning with youngest son who went to bed 15 mins in last night. He is 8, has no interest in model railways but this really seemed to grab his interest and he asked to watch the rest this morning to see who won. What i have taken from re-watching it this morning is, the producers seem to have made every one seem normal. No one has been made out to be anoraks who live at home with thier mum's. That has to be good for the hobby.
  19. I enjoyed that. I have mate who has no interest in model railways who watched it and whatsapp'd me most of the way through, and I guess that is half the point of the program to gain the wider audience
  20. The last of the 6 announced is now available, Richard Borrett in ICI moroon. It will be interesting to see if they announce any more, or if they decided to do something new. Owen
  21. The RRP for the class 07 is £139.00 Rails have been doing them for £105 since day, approx. 25% off the RRP. £6.00 cheaper than Hattons and I though Hattons were cheap ! Owen P.s. Hope my maths are right
  22. Perhaps this time round I may invest in a Heljan Beyer Garratt!
