  1. RUST FREE SHELL......... Rocking horse Sh1t. I'd love to rebuild mine onto a rust free shell, or a new heritage shell but time and money don't currently allow for that, so I'll just keep patching it to keep it on the road.
  2. Just placed my first ever order with Shapeways....

  3. Mines certainly not that quick although if pushed along it'll touch 80 (on an airfield, obviously not on the road). You'd have thought it might be quicker considering how little metal there is left in it (mumble mumble rust British sports cars mumble mumble) The acceleration is pretty good though and the twin SU's and straight through pipe make it sound good. Also by being so low and exposed it feels like your going a lot quicker than you are. Owen
  4. its that time of year, apart form ragging it round the block to check the new oil pressure/water temp gauge doesn't leak, it hasn't been out since October. Thursday is the first run of the year which will include a run through the dartford tunnel ( very excited by this as the silencer has NO baffles in it). Is it ready.... far from it. there is almost no interior apart from the Drivers seat and dash board and there is still a whole load of welding to be done.... but never mind, its all about driving it :-) Good looking from a far, but far from good looking how big are modern Fiesta's.......

  6. Hi Paul, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to see some detailed photos of your loco such as inside the cab and around the engines etc... Also just being nosey how do you come to own it? I can imagine if I came home and told the Mrs I'd bought a real loco I might well end up living in it . Thanks Owen

  10. Has actually managed to do some modelling this afternoon. I'm loving 2016

  11. I have a very similar collection of one of each, and an extra of the Balfour livery to detail. Wierdly I even have them in the same Lidl glass cabinet. I even have the next 2 on pre-order. I wonder how many collectors like us Hornby rely on each year buying the next liveries just to carry on our collection.... Owen

  14. On the Oxford Diecast stand was a small A4 sign stating they will be making the 0-6-0DE Janus. The few details were, it will feature a 5 pole mote and be available late 2016. There will be 4 liveries NCB Port of London Authority British Steel And I'll be damned if I can remeber the 4th. Owen
  15. I picked up a pair of each this morning. Robert was still bagging them as a fair few of us queued to buy them. They'll go nicely with the sawplan laser glaze frets I already have
  16. They are also doing the 'Crossley Evans Ltd' Scrap yard external crank one http://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/sentinel-crossley-and-evans-0-4-0.html Both appear to be due at the end of March
  17. So the Oxford Adams Radial will be released next week!

I hope its the better model (we need more competition in the hobby) but I'm holding out for the Hornby version before parting with my readies...

  18. Club AGM..... AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

  19. I have (almost embarrassed to say) 6 now. One of Each. A couple have been chipped and I haven't had any problems with any of them. They all run smoothly and quietly, even on our club layout which has the old style insulfrog points. The couple I have chipped have come apart and gone back to together with the exception of the Esso liveried one where one of the screws needed the head drilling off and a replacement screw fitting as it had been over tightened from new. I reckon your just unfortunate, get it swapped by whoever sold it to you. Owen
  20. And now the Balfour one has arrived with Hattons! http://www.ehattons.com/98078/Hornby_R3353_Sentinel_4wDH_in_Balfour_Beatty_livery/StockDetail.aspx
  21. According to Hornby's website Barabel is now in stock...

    Dagenham Factory

I know the Ford factory at Dagenham quite well and you really have captured the feel of the place. Great little layout, thanks for sharing.
  23. Hi Kenton, One of mine is chipped just as Hornby intended. The chip works perfectly well on our club layout with a cheap Bachmann DCC controller. It took about 20 mins to do, the hardest parts was getting the screws out of the body/chasssis, over tightened was an understatement. Making all the wire fit was interesting as well. Good luck. Owen
  24. This looks great and I will be pre-ordering one. https://www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk/models/special-commissions/product/s-stock-s8-collection.html The connections between coaches looks interesting
