  1. Sorry if this has been answered before. My loco appears to have a tight spot. I have only run it for an hour or so 'down the club'. I will run it in for longer but has anyone else had this problem before I take it apart to have a look at it, or is it duff and needs to go back. First loco I have had in a long time that hasn't run smoothly from the box. Thanks in advance Owen
  2. **Deleted** Realised this has already been answered. Perhaps the website should state all 17 wagons will have unique running numbers. Thanks Owen
  3. Good luck Kathy. I look forward to seeing a youtube video about your entry soon :-) Owen
  4. Thanks Simon. I won't bother e-mailing them :-) Owen
  5. Just to let you know that Justin from Scale model scenery has confirmed that 200x200 corner modules should be available later in the week. usual caveat applies, I'm just a satisfied customer. Owen
  6. Before i fire off an e-mail to Golden Valley has any one seen anything about the next batch (British Steel). Our friendly liverpool based retailer is still showing it as October delivery!. Thanks Owen
  7. Sorry to be the odd one out, but I got an e-mail to say the new Sentinels had come into stock on Friday, and mine arrived today. I have had it on pre-order since Jan. I was suprised though to not get the usual Its packed e-mail, etc. But I got the train so I'm not worried. Owen
  8. I must be lucky then. Hattons have e-mailed me to say mine is being despatched today. I am being charged the pre-order price of £59.00. I may have to re-think my pre-order for Graham, as I'm not sure they are worth almost a £100 each. Owen
  9. I have it as well. I intend to practise some of the techniques on my entry into the cake box challenge. A link to the original thread about the book. maybe they could be combined ? http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/125396-modelling-heavy-industry-book/ Ta owen
  10. I have recently bought the new book Modelling Heavy Industry by Arthur of this forum (Crowood press, a very good read). There are loads of bits in there I really want a go at and this I think maybe the perfect opportunity. I'm thinking corner of a yard, inset track disappearing into a corrugated iron shed (the whole backscene), Pipe work, maybe a gantry crane. First step is to get some Slaters corrugated sheets at the Peterborough Show this weekend to play with. Owen
  11. Any pictures for those of us who couldn't make it Les? Thanks Owen
  12. Just a heads up that the next Sentinel is (according to Rails of Sheffield) only 2 weeks away. Its R3576, Chain drive No19 of Barrington Light railway. I've checked on the Hornby website and this also says October for delivery. R3577 Rod drive 'Graham' is still showing as February '18. Owen
  13. Morning Cap'n. If you look at the livery samples that Dave has put on the first page it does look like the chassis block will be black to try and hide it. I fully intend to do the same as you and put some clutter around to hide it even more.
  14. Damn I was right, and now I know what they are I really do want both. Well done Hattons.
  15. Well its worked. I have no idea what they are but I want them..... My wallet on the other hand is hiding just in case.
  16. That would suit me, I sort of like that horrible vinyl teak wrap
  17. You will probably find it runs the wrong way, but apart from that it should be fine.
  18. Interesting stuff. I have been back through the thread and Golden valleys webpage this morning and can't find any mention of dual flywheels. So perhaps it was only supposed to have one. It also appears from other people's pictures my motor is fitted the wrong way round. Should I change it back the other way ? Or I'm thinking just swap the wires over and add an extra flywheel to the currently unused end. Even so for the money I am very pleased with it.
  19. Ok just stripped mine down and it has the one centre flywheel on the coupling. The same as 37081LochLong. Hmmm
  20. I'd go for any of the above and would buy any of the above in 4mm. But what I would really like to see is other Mountain Ash loco's done. We already have the Bachmann/Modelzone limited edtion of Panier 7754, and the DJM/Hattons Austerity No8. So that still leaves Avonside 'Sir John', Andrew Barclay 'Llantanum Abbey,' Hudswell Clarke 1885 or Peckett 1203 'The Earl' Thanks Owen
  21. Thats lovely. I'm very jealous. Do you have any pictures of the construction of the warehouses ? Owen
  22. Phi'ls Melbridge Box company layout is featured on pages of 36-39. Its a good article. Even though I have read about the layout before I always feel inspired by stuff like this. Owen
  23. On the Golden Valley Hobbies website today Updated: 2nd June 2017 Our first stock has left the factory and is heading towards us! GV2012 - National Coal board Janus 0-6-0 GV6012 - NCB 3 pack wagons GVCOAL - - 3 pack of wagon loads (Coal) Release expected early July 2017 Owen
  24. Last night on Facebook, Taff from Oxford Diecast gave a preview of the next 3 months. Plenty of new Cars, planes and plant in N, OO and O and some pictures of the new Warwells and Carflats. But he also gave a sneak peak of the new Oxford Structures range. The initial range will consist of two shops, a 1930’s style bungalow, plus a thatched cottage. Also included is a beautifully styled country church and of course the obligatory Pub. There will also be a GWR station, Water tower, signal box and some other bits The group is called Oxford Diecast Collectors and well worth joining. Owen
  25. I wouldn't build your hopes up as this is the Oxford Dicast website, there is nothing on the Oxford Rail website.
