  1. Glad you had a good break Dave and thanks again for continuing to post such excellent photos. I particularly like the 03 in J4285 - great detail for modelling and weathering.
  2. More superb images Dave. I especially like J6243 - heavy freight alongside a beautiful lake...
  3. Many Happy Returns David - and many thanks for continuing to post such interesting photos.
  4. Another great selection David - many thanks for continuing to post these excellent images.
  5. Sorry to hear your sad news David. Take care and look after yourself.
  6. Thanks so much for the reply James - all very helpful stuff! The work you've done on your TEA's is excellent. They look great. I'm looking forward to attempting to get somewhere near your own high standard when I start on mine... Many thanks once again. Cheers, John.
  7. Thanks Brian. Which Stenson Models bogie type would be suitable to use under the TEA's?
  8. I'm refurbishing some old Hornby TEA tanker wagons and want to replace the 'coach' bogies they run on. I model in 4mm scale, 00 gauge on code 75 rail. I'm hoping to improve the models to look how they would in the early to mid 1980's. I've been looking at the Cambrian Models range of bogies and was wondering which type would suit. Any advice or other suitable replacement bogie suggestions would be gratefully received as always.
  9. Great to have RMweb back. Thanks to you Andy and all the others involved in restoring the forum.
  10. I have just received my copy of 'Scotland’s Diesel Fleet in Detail: Class 26s'. I've only had chance to have a brief look at the book so far, but it is a high quality publication. There are lots of excellent close up detail photos of the class with explanations of the function of the areas on show. There are some fascinating shots of the class at work and the pictures are clear and sharp. The text appears to have a wealth of information on every individual member of the class 26's. If you have an interest in 26's and modelling Scottish railways in the diesel era I would highly recommend you purchase this book. (By the way, I have no connection with the SDEG, other than as a happy customer... ) Many thanks to all at the SDEG for producing this publication. Incidentally, I placed my order and paid for the book on March 2nd and it arrived in the wilds of Wales this morning, March 4th - excellent service!

  12. If Philip can't help, Steve at Railtec does 3D printed custom plates: Railtec 3D Plates
  13. This is a method I use for fitting the 'hooks' in plastic buffer beamed rolling stock. First, drill a central hole in the buffer beam. Then open it out by using a small 'slotting' tool that I make from grinding an old hacksaw blade to shape. This is heated in a candle flame and pushed into the drilled hole while still hot and is removed quickly. Pare away any bulge in the plastic and insert the 'hook'. Bend round the back of the beam (or fix springs if using them) and secure with some epoxy. Works well for me.
  14. Many thanks for this extra information Pete and sorry for the delay in getting back to you - it's been a bit bonkers over here in Wales this weekend...! Your whole fuelling station looks great Thanks again.
  15. They look like they would do the job nicely - thanks for the link David. Hopefully they will come back in stock soon. Thanks again for the help.
  16. Thanks for the information and suggestion Sam. The LED's and straw sounds like a great idea.
  17. I'm looking to provide 'real' lighting to a 4mm scale diesel fuelling point based on Aberdeen Ferryhill that I'm making. Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a supplier of the model 'fluorescent' tube light as seen in the photo below? Thanks for any help as always.
  18. Hi Steve, You get one (!) Open AB wagon's worth on Modelmaster 4866 (ex Cambrian CT2). Modelmaster 4866 May be worth contacting Railtech and asking them to do a custom sheet for you. Railtec
  19. As someone who has, in the past, tried to protect my own IP because of infringement, I couldn't agree more A Y.
  20. I think I may have answered my own question... This further photo on Pauls site shows a similar wagon (Dia TTO18J) that clearly has no inspection 'door/hatch' at one end: CO 2 tank
  21. I'm looking to build a few of the Distillers TTA CO2 Tanker wagons (Dia TTO18E, the Motherwell Bridge 1966 version) - as seen here on Paul Bartlett's excellent site - CO2 TTA My question is... did these wagons have the round inspection 'door' at both ends or one end only? Many thanks as always for any help.
