  1. I'm looking for a water based brushable Satin or Matt varnish to use to seal various types of transfers on my 4mm wagon projects. MicroScale Micro Satin has been suggested https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MicroScale-Micro-Satin-waterbased-varnish-satin-finish-MSSATIN/231941076114?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 What do the members of the forum think of this product? Would you have any other recommendations? Many thanks as always for any help.
  2. Thanks for posting this Andy. I'm slowly(!) trawling through the report and around page 45 onwards has some fascinating information regarding a St Blazey area - Potteries freight (6M26) Included in the consist are many OWV's and also an 'OWC' number M 419896 - not seen one of them before... Thanks again. Just spotted this bit... '...Our main programmer on the F.R.S. suite was Ian Turnbull, who had been in the news some years earlier when arrested in Poland for taking train photographs. Happily his detention did not last too long and did not prevent him doing an excellent job on this important part of the TOPS application software'. The whole report is an absolute goldmine of information for anyone, like me, who has an interest in BR Freight and Loco operations in the early TOPS era - brilliant!
  3. This is looking really good. Could you please show us a picture of the 'backstage' of the layout?
  4. Does anyone produce yellow circle 'Circuit' Tranfers in 4mm scale? I'm after the yellow circles with 'Circuit' written in black with a black arrow pointing downwards. Thanks for any help.
  5. What an interesting topic this is! Just a quick question... Most of the photos I've seen of CAO Brake Vans shows them in the 'fitted' Bauxite/Freight Brown livery: Should they have been originally painted in 'unfitted grey'?
  6. Where is the ultimate destination (the user) of the sand train to Arpley?
  7. Brilliant stuff Jim - many thanks for posting these fascinating photos!
  8. Please ignore this post - Apologies to everyone - I've just found this kit on the old Cambrian site and it doesn't appear to be the ones used on the West Highland... I was looking through the 'Peters Spares' site and came across this listing http://www.petersspares.com/cambrian-c112-br-timber-wagon-d1429-nya-wagon-plastic-kit-oo-gauge.ir Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I've not heard about this kit. I can't find it on Cambrians site. Has anyone any more information as to its availability/price/etc? I'm building a West Highland line and I quite fancy a few of these to stick behind a 27 or a pair of 20's. Many thanks.
  9. Has anyone a link to an actual 'picture' of the Modelmasters transfer sheet that contains BBA data panels/numbers? I'd like to see how many BBA wagons it will be able to 'number up'. MM don't seem to have an image on their site and I can't find one on some of their usual dealers sites. I'm trying to work out if it would be more economic to use the blank data panels from Fox and make them up myself - mind you, not sure the eyes could cope...
  10. Apologies if this has been linked before (I've not noticed it... ) Some great footage right from the start of a class 27 on the Crianlarich to Corpach timber trains and lots more interesting stuff with 33's, Deltics, a 37 on an inspection saloon and more top and tailed 27's on the Edinburgh to Glasgow service. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iymWF0t4jow
  11. They look even better close up! Thanks for taking the time to upload the pictures.
  12. Thanks Brian. I hadn't seen one of those before. Love the ladder...! Thanks again.
  13. Thanks for the reply Baz - your POA's look great! If you could post some measurements that would be much appreciated. Many thanks once again.
  14. Recently saw a small undated photo in an old rail magazine of two 37's (possibly 37/9's?) hauling an ore train past the former Isis Link depot sidings at Cardiff Canton. There appears to be piles of round timber stacked alongside the fairly overgrown sidings. Were these awaiting loading onto OTA's for shipping away by rail and if so were they destined for Shotton Paper, Hereford, Chirk or somewhere else? Thanks as always for any help.
  15. I'm adding some variety to my Bachmann VDA fleet and was wondering if anyone manufactures the FAT 13 or Taperlite Suspension systems in 4mm? Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. Just wondered if anyone had any links to the drawings or dimensions of the Powell Duffryn converted ASW Blackadder wagons that were built on old Shell tank wagon chassis in the late 1980's? Many thanks for any help.
