  1. I concur with Rob's sentiments on the Peaks on the MML. Great times. Another nice selection thanks Dave. Regards Guy
  2. Cheers Paul. I haven't got great resolution and i had tried to rationalise how the blue stars could look like that given the apparent air brakes. Many thanks Guy (on a dodgy internet connection in South West France!)
  3. J3999. Thats a toffee apple 31009 or 31019 isn't it? Looks like red dot MW markers above the buffer beam but appears to have an air brake pipe above the steam heat pipe? Thought all the 31/0's were VB only. Can't quite make it out. More likely a Yarmouth? Stratford's finest on a day out to the seaside. Great photos as ever Dave. Regards Guy
  4. J2047. Fantastic. Very slightly fuzzy but just a great snapshot. Proper filthy green, blue and grey and dirty maroon set in a post steam landscape. Lovely. Regards Guy
  5. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing, keep em' coming! Regards Guy
  6. Not a bad resource. I've put my ten penneth in on several occasions from my notes. It's useful as a cross reference and, of course, for the nostalgia. Regards Guy
  7. 6th April 83' I noted 09002 and 09020 both working sidings around Woking station Regards Guu
  8. .......in charge of a Roarer of some description, not an 86' Can't make the photo sharp enough to nail it down though. Great photos as always though Dave! Regards Guy
  9. I've never had any railway cab experience but recall a fabulous and at the same time terrifying journey in the rear guard's compartment of an HST power car between Derby and Birmingham in 82 or 83. What a noise. A cross between what I would imagine an early space pioneer felt being shot into orbit on an early rocket, and being stuck in a spin drier. Regards Guy
  10. Outstanding work Jeff! I'm still looking for an unballasted chipboard prototype to justify my lack of effort! Regards Guy
  11. http://www.semgonline.com/coach/brmk1_1.html Apologies for the whole link but the NSE coach about half the way down shows the jumper well. Robert Carroll's Yahoo coaching stock group is we'll worth joining for detail questions. Regards Guy
  12. J2077.......iron ore wagon. Interesting that it's got company branding. And I can't like those snow pictures enough! Great atmosphere. It doesn't matter about the exposure, they are perfect time capsules. As always keep em' coming Dave. Love it. All the best Guy
  13. Loving these photos, many thanks. Reminds me of a couple of visits during 1982 to Cardiff. As a kid from the Midlands the endless procession of 37's was manna from heaven! It still staggers me that even in the early 80's there were a good proportion of them were still vacuum brake only, although it was totally changed in short order in the mid 80's Regards Guy
  14. C5445....... 20068 was partnered with 20073 throughout July 81'on numerous Derby Skegness and Burton Skeggy workings for your info Dave. Regards Guy
  15. J163.....the colours may be "off" but it's still a very nice portrait. It doesn't detract from it at all, in fact I'd suggest it captures the period perfectly. Lovely. Thanks again for these historical photos and long may they continue. All the best Guy
  16. For the sake of completion, after having a chat with Dave, looks like it was the same train but on 1st August, 25270 and 25056 in charge.....confirmed I believe by the pair caught at Thetford the same day...... https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/86020500@N06/7985429077/in/set-72157632183760017/ Regards Guy
  17. C5451........25177 and 25220 I believe, 1E47 08.35 Derby - Yarmouth 11th July 81'. The only ones that seem to fit the bill, vac braked later shape engine plus earlier companion. Courtesy of Alan Bayliss' fine directory. Regards Guy
  18. I was about to ask if anyone knew what they were! Not seen anything like that before (but there again I haven't been looking)
  19. J1542.....classic shot.....peak and a filthy Siphon. Lovely. Just wished I'd carried a camera when I was out and about. I still recall a single class 25 at Nottingham reversing about 20 SR PMV's through the station in 1982 I think. So filthy the numbers were totally unreadable. Would have made a brilliant photo considering they were all disappearing off the scene rapidly. Fantastic time capsule again Dave. Lovely
  20. C3466........quick glance thought it was one of them Troublesome Trucks! Once again, another time capsule! Regards Guy
  21. J1775.....lovely photo! Is that a Thompson third coach back? Must've been one of the last out there in '69! Regards Guy
  22. J2650.........would that be vacuum fitted to the brake van, with the air braked vans as a tail load? Great photo! Regards Guy
