  1. .....12088 as well Rob. Preserved. From a quick Google. Regards Guy
  2. Put it into perspective of anything involving research. Your product is as good as your source. As a historian (and yes I did my degree before the internet) I think the scope of the project is pretty epic considering the scope of sourcing original material AND putting it together in a readable format. I am still taken aback by the amount of material. Considering it's coaching stock as well where records are nowhere near as comprehensive as locomotive. Double sided diagrams? Yes. I get your point but when some of the stock was built in the 1890's that ain't no bad effort. Mr.L. makes the caveat that if the info isn't good enough to put pen to paper in respect of dates then it isn't done. I'm looking forward to the next Volume as I've a special place for LMS stock. Great stuff. Regards Guy
  3. Arrived this morning and very impressive volume......despite the fact the packaging had been clearly tampered with by the Christmas Thieves who seem to inhabit certain distribution centres.....the fourth package we've received in two weeks that has been tampered with or plain burgled for its contents. Regards Guy
  4. Mine is due in the next couple of days.....I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the heads up. Regards Guy
  5. Ooooo....Amazon delivery expected shortly....looking forward to Vol.2 already! Guy
  6. I think it's 37263.....not 253 (that became 37699 in mid 1985) photos on t'interweb show the nose mounted light and cab window decal. Regards Guy
  7. Not a 47/3...... there's a steam heat pipe on the buffer beam. Great photo! Regards Guy
  8. I'd want the builder's plate included for that price!
  9. Is that a Collett full brake (2nd from last) in J663? Very atmospheric Dave! Regards Guy
  10. http://www.departmentals.com/departmental/041978 Not a huge amount of info.....but gives photos of it intact and with sides stripped. Regards Guy
  11. 47152....my favourite steamer....Southampton Maritime was one of them. Google will show WNXX images; http://www.wnxx.com/images/scrap/index.php?level=picture&id=5195# Unsure if that image will expand unless you subscribe. 47207 was another but not sure about an off-bogie shot. Regards Guy
  12. Cheers Bruce! I didn't look at the archive i must admit. They look in good nick to be fair. Regards Guy
  13. Sort of grounded! Two vans forming the main body of what I guess to be a vehicle workshop just off Church Street in the centre of Ashbourne. Mrs. B was busy looking at the fine selections of gin in the new emporium on the corner of the yard when these caught my eye! The other one is enclosed within the bulkof the structure and roof but you can see the buffer mounts and drawgear points. Regards Guy
  14. The thread that keeps giving! Some great photos Dave that really drag me back to some fun times.....you've really captured 70's blue perfectly. Regards Guy
  15. O08'.... some epic haulage behind "Thunderer' Great photos and it's the scrapyard shots of them that make me realise that what seems like yesterday was in fact (for me) 26 - 37 years ago! Regards Guy
  16. https://www.derbysulzers.com/laira.html 25048 / 25155 both dual braked late 70's allocated to Laira. Both body shell types as well. Regards Guy
  17. Probably worth a re-post in the Special Interest category under LMS Coaching Stock
  18. As above......if anyone has one for sale at a *reasonable* price I would be very much obliged! I appreciate they seem to have published fewer copies than Vol 1 and 3. Or so it appears! Many thanks. Guy
  19. 40009 on the breakdown train? Can't quite read the number......vac only, discs removed and no steam pipe or tanks. Great shot!
  20. Some fantastic photos there Dave. Loving the gritty reality of the class 40's in their work day filth! Lovely. Regards. Guy
  21. Get sorted Dave! Hope all is well. Looking forward to more great stuff in the future. Regards Guy
  22. At the moment the VCT are having web site issues that they are trying to resolve but are still struggling with. Appears to be down completely for me today so far and when it does appear it takes an age. Regards Guy
  23. Mainline did a Stanier composite, and a a BSK of which I had three and as a RTR offering in BR maroon with crest. I thought they were very nice. I didn't mod them at all as it was a look I was after as opposed to a true prototype. They ran very well and responded nicely to Bachmann wheels and couplings. Long since moved on as I went to Bachmann MK1's. Replica also did a RTR Stanier open third in maroon from the same tooling stable I'm led to believe and they occasionally come up on the eBays although quite pricey. Regards Guy
  24. J4361 isn't an 87 Dave. Air braked. It's an all Mk1 rake! Whilst there we're a fair few dual braked a WCML rake would've been VB and dual heat. Can't suggest an alternative it's a bit indistinct. Some great photos as always! Regards Guy
