  1. I was thinking models that look like the real thing! Regards Guy
  2. I was wondering if it was a 2-EPB trailer. The number sequence is class 416 minus the M prefix. Profile is very similar. Regards Guy
  3. Same photographer. Same date different angle. M653.. some sort of EMU? Copyright Gordon Edgar on Flikr. Regards Guy
  4. Literally a quick shot from the hip....still attached to headphones and phone in left jeans pocket. Leamington Spa......68009 Titan opens up the taps on 1H55 10.55 Moor Street Marylebone as 68012 rolls in on 1R21 10.10 Marylebone Moor Street. I was quite pleased with the result given I nearly dropped bag as well!
  5. C5678 potentially an MOD movement? Barrier van plus a bogie vehicle on the rear for MOD police if the load was sensitive? Just a thought! Regards Guy
  6. 041838 ex 94109 was (as far as I can ascertain) the only York based internal user CCT on their books, transferred in May 85'. Others were BG's. Regards Guy
  7. Yep. I got one early last year from HMRS with a lovely hand-written note in the end paper to boot. Proper old school. This was to supplement my copy of the last edition. Regards Guy
  8. Lovely photo Trev. That livery really suits them and they were turned out immaculately. So much better than the dreadful NSE ice cream van livery! Regards Guy
  9. Lovely photos David. We have stayed in one of the railway cottages at Redesmouth on a couple of occasions in the last few years......just out of shot to the right. The engine shed is still extant as part of a working farm across the field. Love this part of the country. Regards Guy
  10. J6519.....my first impression was 55007 Pinza. Looks like a 7 when blown up and the plate is very short with quite tall lettering. The first Deltic I ever stood next to before it departed York one freezing November evening in 1981. Great photo Dave!
  11. Once and once only looped into the Tile Hill loop to let an express past whilst onboard a 310 back in 83 or 84. Regards Guy
  12. The process of connecting the relevant pipes (vacuum, steam etc) Regards Guy
  13. The livery just suits them down to the ground in my opinion. For a 60 year old design they still do the business. Great photo thanks! Regards Guy
  14. C19460. The most mileage I've accumulated behind any class 86! Always seemed to appear on long distance ADEX's. At the time it was irritating but don't I miss it now! Great photos as always Dave. Regards Guy
  15. June 1966 according to Longworth. Converted to a bar-car in 1956, from a composite. Regards Guy
  16. Courtesy of Robert Carroll on Flikr. Regards Guy
  17. There was quite a bit of early MK1 build that bit the bullet in the late 60's and very early 70's when they were only 15-18 years old. This was at the same time as the remaining Thompson stock from the ER, and the remaining Stanier steel builds, of which there were quite a lot left in 68-69. Plus the remaining Bullieds from the SR (and further afield). Many of these were BR builds of older designs but only 20 years old. Was this a conscious decision by management or driven by newer MK2 coming on stream coupled with in the case of early MK1 build the stigma of rampant corrosion? Just one of the questions/conundrums that interest me! Regards Guy
  18. Yep. Certainly changed. My mum lives in one of the houses on the cul-de-sac behind the first carriage. It's a nice walk up to Newton on the track bed. A shame there aren't more photos of this stretch between Rugby and Lutterworth. Regards Guy
  19. That's an extremely unusual location to see photographed Nidge! Regards Guy
  20. Joining Robert Carroll's excellent Coaching Stock Yahoo group will certainly give you some answers. There is a decent thread on the Derby Red Set on there as well. Regards Guy
  21. Brilliant photos Trevor. Thanks for sharing! Regards Guy
  22. DB977184/185 (formerly 2042/2010 ) I'm led to believe were probably the only departmental conversion from a MK1 sleeper. Scrapped at Mayers early 1987. Unusual colour for a departmental and no numbering visible either! Regards Guy
