  1. Hi Folks, On Page 19 of this thread I mentioned my good friend Steve Jones was building a model of Fairwood Junction (just to the west of Westbury). Unfortunately Steve does not do Rmweb, so there is no layout page on this forum. The layout is now finished and will soon be on the Exhibition circuit (think the first show is Calne in the Spring). It will also be at the Great Electric Train Show at Milton Keynes in October. Mike Wild from the Hornby Magazine came over during the week to take some photos (for an upcoming article), Steve asked if I could assist (and bring a little extra stock), which of course I was happy to do. A couple of my pictures from on the day.
  2. A traffic flow that doesn’t exist on the railway in 2024 is the movement of Household Coal. Back in 1990, Wyvern Road had its fare share with two very different types of train. 56106 in the old Red Stripe Railfreight livery heads a rake of HEA empties from Warrington towards South Wales. This train is the longest of my 1990’s collection with x24 wagons. The other flow is Household Coal for Export to Ireland. 37796 heads a lengthy rake towards Ellesmere Port on Merseyside.
  3. Those Yeoman JHA’s look spot on. Just like the ones we see everyday.
  4. It’s been over a year since I posted on this thread, and Melangoose’s last outing was at the Warley/NEC 2022 (which was a great Exhibition helped by Nick and Geoff). Very sad to hear that 2023 Exhibition was the last, and definitely the end of an era of fantastic NEC shows organised by the Warley MRC. A couple of pictures included that I did not post at the time. 37672 shunts at the Clay Works Keeping the public Entertained
  5. Metals sub sector traffic is a key flow through Wyvern Road. With loaded traffic in both direction from manufacturing in Llanwern and Port Talbot to the finishing mill at Shotton at Deeside and for distribution in the West Midlands. a view from the station road bridge brought to a stand by the Wyvern Road Signaller then given the road under a caution aspect
  6. Some good photos there with the Arriva 67 on MOD workings (prototype and model form). Keep up the hood work.
  7. I know what you mean about time passing and stuff feeling contemporary and not realising that time has passed by. I was kind of shocked browsing through Rail Express, with DB retiring the Class 60 (such a modern freight loco I thought). Then I realised that it was introduced in 1989, so they are coming up to 35 years old (where has the time gone). Anyway Grampus Heritage, Contemporary or Modern, enjoy your modelling.
  8. Hi Peter, Thanks for the post. I love my sector Class 37’s and the Large Logo on the mk2’s completes the trio. The 50 on the PW is typical of the once a week from Bristol East to Bescot. Really enjoying running my heritage collection. Hope all is well with you in Australia. Regards Nigel
  9. Looking good Ian. You must be one of these folks that don’t feel the cold to be working in the shed the last few days. Keep up the good work.
  10. Had a chance to run some trains this morning
  11. Welcome back Scott. I know that the Permanent Way scene is your thing, and your new layout is great. Especially like your RSS Class 08, just great for shunting wagons about before the 66 departs for Westbury or further afield. Keep up the good work, and keep the pictures coming.
  12. Happy New Year to you too. Glad that you like the layout.
  13. Hi Folks, Now that we are in 2024, I wondered if anyone from Accurascale could give us folks that have paid a deposit a new forecast on when we might be expecting this Class 37?
  14. With the New Year Celebrations over and the big winds from yesterday gone. At least my Railway is back running.
