  1. I like your new Class 31, looks amazing with that RR rake. Happy New Year to you too Mark (and all the Shrewford followers).
  2. Thanks Nick, Although my pace is like a snail compared to a lot of folk on this forum. I am very pleased with the progress, but I do have the distraction of running trains.
  3. Did a bit more around the Scout’s building by adding some overgrown vegetation and to the railway wasteland between the bridge. Hope that everyone had a nice Christmas.
  4. Over the past couple of evenings I have done a bit on the Road/Bridge which forms the scenic break in the up direction. Have a little bit of greenery to do and then we will be about there.
  5. Your layout is really coming together now, wow. New Post Office building is stunning.
  6. Comparison pictures taken on 10 March 2016 (my modelling period, last years of the mainline Western HST’s). My favourite station. A special day out with my friend Chris Dann, who’s planed day out changed so we could ride with Harry Patch back to Reading
  7. Had a day out to Hereford today with a bunch of friends. Great fun and a good day out. Haven’t been there for 3 years and couldn’t believe how much it had changed, good bye Arriva Trains Wales and London Midland and hello Transport for Wales and West Midlands Trains.
  8. With me being a Dorset resident I have followed your thread with much interest. It’s a shame that your layout is to be dismantled, but I do appreciate your reasons why and look forward to the 2nd variant. I note by your recent purchases and pictures that the Cornish Rail scene is creeping into your life (I am a big fan of that too).
  9. The building that you refer to was originally built by Steve Adcock for his layout Russell Bridge, which was 32ft long and a regular on the Exhibition circuit in the 1990’s. I owned the layout for 20 years and had it up in my loft. We had some roofing work done a few years back and lost the use of the loft, but gained a Hobbyroom. So I built Wyvern Road repurposed a majority of the buildings from the old layout. An old picture taken some years ago on RB when running Western Region stock.
  10. Great picture on the Cover Nick. I will look forward to getting a copy next week.
  11. Some movements through Wyvern Road this morning. 66207 heads the Hays to Moreton on Lugg stone empties. A FGW Class 166 forms the stopping service to Oxford. A Paddington bound HST on the Up Line passes a Steel train as it approaches the red signal on the Up Loop. 66088 had just x4 wagons from Margam today 67014 on the morning WAG from Holyhead passes 37421 in the siding with a Test Train.
  12. Sounds like a nice politely worded letter to Father Christmas might be in order (depending on weather you have been naughty or nice). Really love your “Marches Line” layout.
  13. Just spent a pleasant hour or so reading your article in the Hornby Magazine. Really good pictures as well. Well done Pete.
  14. Just found this with my favourite station in the background, so happy with this choice of fencing.
  15. Just slaved some Ratio fencing in to see what it looks like. I think it looks alright to me.
  16. Nice picture of 50046 Ajax and 37068 Grainflow.
  17. Think the bus on the bridge has taken a wrong turn somewhere en route. Lol….
  18. Doing a bit of work to the road, which is the country end scenic break. I want some Road markings, but I would like them to look as though they had been there sometime (and a little worn).
  19. Great to see Deadman’s Lane again and all it’s stock. Nice to see and catch up with Mick, Spike and the Crew. Had a different view from the back of our layout as we backed onto it (all that lovely stock).
  20. A big thank you to Nick and Geoff for helping me at the weekend. And thanks to the Warley MRC for the invitation. It was so nice to see so many friends and familiar faces.
  21. Some trains running today 70805 waits at the signal with Coal Empties as the Wentlog bound liner train passes. An Arriva Trains Wales Gloucester bound Sprinter passes the old level crossing. Colas is short of traction this morning as 37421 helps out 56094 on the RHTT circuit 71000 The Duke of Gloucester heads back to Birmingham on a Charter for shoppers visiting Bath Christmas Market
  22. 66125 did the honours of the last collection of the “White Stuff” before the layout is disassembled for Fridays trip to the West Midlands. 66125 was a spare loco bought for Wyvern Road, when I say spare it’s because initially there was the running problems with the Hattons Class 66. Saying that once the running is sorted they kind of turn into the best locos in the fleet. They are also very delicate and pick it up in the wrong place and you have a hand full of detailing parts. Which kind of put me of having these as part of the Melangoose fleet which would be regularly handled at Shows. But 66125 debuted at DEMU Sutton Coldfield (as an experiment) and now I couldn’t live without it on Melangoose.
  23. Great video, always nice to see Exford Park.
