  1. Hello again from Estuary-Land. I waited until the kick ball had started before I ventured out to Tess Coes this afternoon. Very little traffic about and the same in the store, not that busy either. Stocked up with the essentials, bread, milk and eggs plus a few things for Christmas dinner. Luckily I filled the car up a couple of days ago as the queue's at Tess Coes were horrendous. The filling station is on the entrance road to the store. The left lane takes you into the store and the right lane to the filling station. Both lanes were blocked by cars queueing for fuel so I accessed the car park via another entrance.
  2. And a lot of that data that the US had was German in origin captured after the war. In particular swept wing and delta wing research.
  3. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The car was coated in heavy frost first thing this morning but now it has almost disappeared so I'll be going out shortly to do some shopping. Very much like the London Transport bus overhaul facility at Aldenham. Thats why a greater number of London's buses lasted so long, as much as three times the lifespan of their provincial cousins. It is only obsolete features such as open rear platforms and high steps/floors that led to the withdrawal of the Routemaster for example. The Routemaster was the last London bus designed with Aldenham in mind.
  4. Unbelievable. https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-execution-of-iranian-footballer-amir-nasr-azadani?recruiter=45934944&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&utm_term=ef3ca12bf59d42ce8f5cbc7d1fa2b03d&recruited_by_id=8b485900-7d9a-0130-b1b9-3c764e046567&share_bandit_exp=initial-35243661-en-GB&utm_content=fht-35243661-es-es%3A1
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Coldest night last night, not the -11C just north of here and it was not much less here. However the temperature is rising quite rapidly here and its already 3C and rising.
  6. Evening all from Estuary-Land. According to the thingy at the bottom of the screen its now -5C. and expected to get down to -8C. The kitchen is getting a bit chilly as there is no heating in there only the heat generated when the appliances are in use. As I very rarely use the oven most of the other appliances, microwave, air fryer and slow cooker do not throw out as much heat as the cooker even with all three working together. There is of course the heat given out by the fridge-freezer but that isn't much at this time of year. I flew into Corfu in one of Dan-Airs Comets, that was one destination where you were glad of the extra power (surrounded by mountains).
  7. The instructions should tell you how to remove the body to fit a decoder.

  12. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I needed to do a little eyelid inspection this afternoon but when I went to get off of the bed Arthur Itis jumped in. Nurofen has been deployed and is taking effect. Temperature according to the thingy at the bottom of the screen is now -1C, definitely a night to stay indoors.

  14. When I lived in Burnham-on-Crouch it was always warmer in the winter and cooler in th summer than only a couple of miles inland. A liquid one (alcoholic).
  15. Morning all from Estuary-Land. It was colder last night than the night before but it didn't feel as cold probably because the wind had dropped. Its still showing as -3C outside so its doubtful that I'm going out today.
  16. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Getting cold outside but not as cold as last night. Now some idiot is letting off fireworks. The ice out front hasn't melted one little bit today, not surprising as the sun doesn't penetrate as far as the road this time of year.
  17. To be fair the start price was only 99p.
