  1. Thankyou for the replies, much Appreciated, I am reluctant to use the Halfords spray cans, as i have been told that they are acrylic and this will affect the enamel paint, Hence my question on the humbrol varnish as this was the only one i could find that was enamel, I have seen that phoenix paints who do railway colours also sell an enamel spray varnish, But they say that it must be spayed very, very thin, so that sound like trouble to me, any way reading above it sounds like i may do a tester and see it it effects my paint. Thanks Garry
  2. Hi All, I need to gloss varnish over some enamel paint, Quite a large area (gauge one coach sides ) All i can find is Humbrol , either a little spray can or in tins, Can i ask has anyone any experience with these, Is the spray can any good or can i thin the tins of varnish with Humbrol enamel thinners and spray this. Thankyou Garry

I am gathering information on this in the hope of building an E M gauge model of it, but this bridge has eluded me. Thanks Garry

  10. Hi all, I am about to paint my LM S period 3 coaches , I have the L M S coach books by Essery . and that says that the roof colour is a metallic silver colour, I have a silver colour, I am using Halford car paint for the roof and underframe, But i think the silver is too silver, So i am enquiring as to what other people think will look the part. Thankyou Garry
  11. I find that imperial, and metric allen cap screws just right for small B A screws, Use them upside down, whilst holding the thread , the head size is an ideal socket.
  12. hi all, i can not believe how quick time fly's, anyway i have my new wheels cast and very nice they are too. The build came to a stop as the wheels were not good enough for a scale model, i did have to wait a couple of years for them but they are worth it, I am finishing a gauge one loco at the moment , I started it whilst i was awaiting the wheels, as soon as this is finished i will get back to the LION and update further.
  13. Hi All, I need some LMS coach smoking and no smoking transfers for my gauge one coaches, I can not get any in gauge one, but i have been told that o gauge transfers look o, k. on the gauge one coach windows, so better under scale than none at all, But i can not find any in o gauge either, so do any of you o gauge modellers know where i may buy them from please. Much appreciated. Garry

  15. Hi All, I want to fit some brass bearing that i have, To some wagons, some kit and some commercial , I have seen some reamers from dcc concepts, These just have a cone shape on them, Are these the reamers i use, or can i buy others that are more straight like a drill, As the bearings i have are more like a top hat shape. Thankyou Garry

  18. Hi all, I am just starting out in E M gauge, I did model in oo before, can someone tell me what is out there for point changing, before when i modelled oo , I used peco point motors and switches on peco points, now i have fine Trax e m gauge points and i have no idea what is out there to buy, the hole in the movable switch is quite large. so, any pointer will be welcome. 21. Thankyou both for the replies, Sad to hear that the green putty is no longer available, it was good, The other good one that i have used in the past was cellulose putty in a little tube for filling small scratches , it was great , I cannot find that anymore now so that must be no longer available, Let us hope someone else on here knows of some good stuff.
  22. I cannot find that online, Is that the complete name, Is it in a tube or do i have to mix it.
  23. Hi All, Can anyone recommend me some fine filler please, I am fitting some white metal window frames in a alloy coach body, ( gauge 1 ) so it is big, These are very awkward to glue in And there will be a small mismatch when finished so i want to fill this, ideally i want a real fine filler in a tube so that i can squeeze in on accurately then rub it smooth, I did have some in a tube , i think it was called green putty, and it was really good, But that is no longer available. I have looked online and there are lots to choose from hence my question,. Thanks Garry
