  1. Your right Chris, and I do think it will happen more and more, it was John Edge (Allegheny1600) that asked me and asked if I would like a day out to see a very special layout, to help my recuperation, at the time I knew not where, but I accepted. Now he drove down from North of Manchester, came out of his way to pic me up from Swad, and then we went over to LB. I had such a wonderful day, even though I found it tiring its a day out I wont forget, and that's due the the kindness of two fellow R M Web members neither of whom I had never met until the morning John picked me up and we arrived at Tony's. I hope to be able to return the favours once I have Bitton up and running, Oh and Chris, your not more than 8 Miles from me either. Long may it continue.

Thanks for the info Peter, and as you work for the Red Cross and are a First Aid Trainer you should know more than most what your talking about. The Extinguisher I have says Multi Purpose so I will keep it, at the end of the day I hope that by being careful it will never get used.

Morning Al, thanks mate, I did try to speed up a couple of weeks ago, and then again prior to the weekend lifting in the Kitchen units and really felt it. I agree about how quickly its come together, its been amazing really. Once the stuff is back from storage which should be this week it will take another big step forward with the frames going in and it will start to look more like a Model Railway Room. Cheers again Al and to all others for you concerns.
  6. Sounds like you need a big mirror along the back wall, or put windows in the back of the shed so you can look in from outside, (that last bit was a JOKE by the way, in case anyone thinks I've lost the plot completely). Mike can we have some step by step pics of you covering the plastic shell as I'm intrigued by this method.
  7. Hi Tony, looks like a nice gathering again today, I have visited both Jason's Bacup and Jeff's former Kirkby Luneside, and it was the running on both that convinced me to go down the Marcway / SMP route, and then of course I saw LB in the flesh as well. Oh its so nice for grown men to be able to play trains and both admit it and enjoy it, hahaha. All the best.
  8. Hi Neil, great little videos and at least it proves it works, and works well, great stuff mate.
  9. Hi Brian, like mine there's no hurry, its better to have it warm and right than cold and quick. All the best mate.
  10. Hi Mike, I'm quite happy to wait for more pics if there going to be of the same quality as the last lot, well done mate. Cheers

Good afternoon all, well not a lot done in the last couple of days. Lee came up today but unfortunately I need the stuff out of storage before I can proceed much further, but we have made a start with the Electrics today. We have fitted the two 8ft Florescent lights up in position and wired them up and brought the feed down to the switch. There will be white plastic trunking over all the wiring at a later date. I should have painted the lights before I fitted them up but I forgot, I have done the covers this morning and will do the rest tomorrow or later in the week. The Double Fuse Board has also gone in ready for connecting up. But we have have to run the cabling up from the power points next, but they need fixing onto the frame, which we cannot fix until we have the units underneath because of the legs. All a bit of a vicious circle really, but were getting there slowly.
  12. Morning Adrian, I have just got my copy of BRM and about to sit down with a nice cup of coffee and read your article. I never realised the layout had such a nice curvature along the front for the control panel to recess back into. Some great pics and I'm looking forward to the read. Well done on the layout and a well deserved article.

Cheers Peter, I will take the Extinguisher back to B & Q and try and get a CO2 one. There shouldn't be any steam on Deesdale Road, its was designed as a Modern Image Layout, hahhaha. I hope you have Swad Lane at the open weekend. May see you at Club on Tuesday all being well.
  14. Hi Al, the new lights look amazing, really cleaver mate.

  19. Wonderful Mike, really nice pics of some cracking stock, love the grass and walling, and the moody through the bridge shot, that's nice. Please keep the pics coming mate, just lovely.
  20. Thanks John, but there is a load of cods wallop in there really, it will get better, (I promise) once I have some baseboards. Thanks anyway.
  21. Brian, that a useful bit of kit, my Good Lady suggested I get a Greenhouse heater just to keep it about 3 degrees or so in the winter to stop stock getting damp.
  22. Love the tree Nick, really good work, one of our club members brought the wife's atomizer bottle up to club last Tuesday and then proceeded to break the top off, I haven't head from him since, I hope he's O.K. haha I hear Dog Houses are quite nice this time of year, ahha
  23. Hi Rob, just had a look at today's wonderful sets of pics, really good and I know what you mean about 3202, its the same with the J39, a simple 0-6-0 Chassis that they have on the 3F and 4F and yet still not a new DCC Ready one announced, just crazy. Layouts looking lovely and I like the new coach as well. EDIT = Bet Dave Jones could get one out next year if you asked, hahhaha
