  1. First show since Jan 2020 at Leeds this weekend. Good to see layouts operating again and catch up with people. Picked up another fork lift to convert and end up in the timber yard as the current forklift looks little under powered. Weathered the hut and will have a side door added before siting opposite the metal workshop.
  2. Thanks for the blocker info. picked up a sectional hut. Deciding if to use as a storage shed for the metal work shop or as thecdepot building
  3. Last of the boxes I was gifted and remember why it is the last! The Boc car and underframe in 2 pits so today is to see if can save it. the mid page advert is doing my head in!
  4. Rainy day on Saturday so extended modelling time. put roof on small warehouse fenced off chemical factory and added the protective wall around the tanks. Still needs the rest of the gravel. colour of garage works well in situ
  5. It maybe just me and I fully understand that the forum has to pay its way but it’s getting to the stage with the pop up adverts, top and bottom banners and long load times that I will be visiting and posting fewer times on the forum. I hope there can be found some sort of half way house that meets the needs of the owners and of the users.
  6. Portland Stone colour seems to suit the garage better than off white. found another box down the back of the desk and a part finished weathered Monon Box car so added a few splashes of rust and awaiting its final weathering wash before being put into service.
  7. Painted all the stone Portland Stone colour and a dusk shot of the Stone Mill. Earlier in the day with the light brighter the goods shelter at CHIRM.
  8. Going for a small planked front and sides and corrugated roof. Shed supposed to keep rain etc off goods awaiting loading and dispatch rather than a goods store or shed
  9. Added power cable poles and telephone poles this afternoon. Decided that the loading pad at CHIRM looked too open so mocked up a partial covered shed structure that looked as if it would protect goods being loaded or unloaded. If works will have corrugated iron sheeting adding
  10. Been in a bit of a trough lately but signs climbing out the other side. Decided not going to find an American fork lift for the stone mill so finished the existing model in a seen some use state. Will keep eyes open on secondhand for anything more suitable.
  11. Yes, I wonder if slices from a dish washing scrubber might work?
  12. Spent the last hour itching and scratching as I seem to have made itching powder by producing the fine strands of the jute string so it’s coming out of the load.
  13. Photos show that the finished stone products were packed in hay or straw so decided to use some teased out hairy string to try and replicate this feature. Not to sure myself and those thin strands look as if they would migrate too easily to the Loco mechanisms
  14. Yes now I think I have decided on the position need to add this feature. Hot day so just sat and completed the Stone load for the gondola. Need to find some hairy string as most images show completed stone pieces packed in straw or hay.
  15. Enjoy! Back on Duty Friday with the lunchtime lay over so fish and chips from the Royal will be consumed.
  16. Added the overhead pipework . Moved the tall tank to the opposite side of the works but will not be glued down to allow access to tracks. Apart from completing ballasting, ground cover and detailing just about there.
  17. Did some more on the chemical plant. Loading dock and inspection platform. I think some pipe work and that will be it.
  18. Added a single layer of weathering wash to two of the three tankers just take the shine off the plastic though in the image it seems to have added to it!
  19. Worked on base layer weathering of the chemical plant as decided that is what it will stay as with two short spurs. decided that the gravel area behind the diner will be warehousing so all areas now have been allocated to something.
  20. Last day of self isolation and a poor night for the wife so taking no chancers. Spent part of day making up gondola stone loads. How long before all 3 D printed I wonder but for moment coffee stirrers from NYMR and scrap pieces of plasticard.
  21. Drier day than yesterday with some sun so felt uplifted and spent time in the garden and the garage. Decided to add more concrete standing to the diner as looked too imbalanced before. The Vegetation on the embankments leading to the fiddleyard have been completed. Could be better but as a scene break works. still not really happy with the chemical works area, it’s not really coming together and still toying with it having one rather than two spurs
