  2. Well it looks like I am back properly now. The layout is being slowly built in the loft at home, there isn't much space up there because of the angle of the roof etc however the layout is approximate 20 foot by 12 foot. It has a depot, Colliery and a bit of a station. The coal loader is a Walthers structure and the colliery shed is the knightwing engine shed kit, there is a few scaledale structures too for various buildings on the site. The Depot is the one that I built when I moved to the new house which is four Peco kits joined together the fifth kit is spare at the moment so is getting stored so the depot has four roads, next to the depot building is three stabling roads, at the front of the depot building is a Bachmann washing plant and Knightwing fueling points. the photos bellow were taken just before the 3 stabling roads were added The station at the moment is planks of wood, eventually the station will be just the ends of the platforms so I will have more running train space with scenery built at the line-side, with the old Carr Crofts layout I enjoyed making the grass and slope etc. Simon
  3. Thanks for the kind words Simon
  4. Wow, It has been a long time from the start of the house moving process to the end, Vicky, the kids and Myself have moved in ( we have been in the new home for about 2 months ) it was worth it, more to pay on the mortgage etc. I now have a dedicated room for a layout ! There was a lot of work to do with the house, beds wardrobes, shed, decking etc considering it is a new build house but its coming along nicely. The main issues were delivery's from various places. I made a start on a Peco depot but am short of track at the moment however a visit to a shop later may sort that out. the new shed... The depot is going to be called Mulberry Depot, I am also thinking of having a colliery, scrap yard ( again ), and station however i am very undecided at the moment about everything and am just going with the flow.
  5. Would anyone happen to know if the to be released Hornby power cars are both motored in the 2020 range or is it still a powered vehicle plus a dummy vehicle ? https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2020/br-class-43-hst-power-cars-43123-and-43065-city-of-edinburgh-era-8.html
  6. well the house has been done however were hopefully going to be moving soon, after a break from modelling with the house refurbishment etc it has given me a thought to re do carr crofts but more of a free of location layout but will include a scrap yard and depot. Nothing except a plank will be done for the time being until the house move around March time and will be put on the Carr Crofts thread
  7. Such a lot has gone on since this, and Metaley layouts. I have refurbished my house now and had a good break from railway modelling. Anyway we ( the Mrs and Myself ) have applied for a mortgage for a new home, still early days on that however I am still in my present old home for the foreseeable future, the new house subject to a mortgage and all that stuff wont be finished being built until about march time. To cut the story a bit short I am going to do a plank for a while until the move then maybe a new layout eventually but we will see. Tomorrow will see a point or two and a few bits of flexi strung together. I am still recovering from renovating my home though lol, so lets see where this will take me SGJ
  8. I have searched replica railways ebay, and peters spares for Replica Railways class 45 traction tires but without success, is there an alternative available that would fit the model ( I have also tried Mainline class 45 too on the search. Any help appreciated Simon

Is the class 140 scratch built ?
  10. 08021 is the last locomotive to haul a train on this layout, it is getting dismantled now. There is some work on the house that needs doing, replacement joists, floorboards and plastering all being done by professionals, it is too big of a job for me to do. After the work is all done then I will think about Metalet ( mk2 ) the proper layout. it again has been fun like Armley Moor and a great journey with ideas etc Simon
