  1. I generally buy from either a online store or Frizinghall ( Frizinghall is less of a discount than online and already marked on the price tag ) so basically if I go to another shop I will ask for a discount ( any discount if its less than rrp Is great ) even if £1.00 off of a £150.00 loco is offered would be £149.00 then I can make my money go further, if the shop says no that is fine too, I would simply say no problem and leave, and buy from who will give a discount. I expect a discount because I can get one, maybe or maybe not in your shop but I can get a discount so will ask. I dont ask for discounts on coaches, wagons, track etc On a sub note I used to buy some wagons and bits from trader at shows quite regular ( paid the ticket price without asking for a discount ) and even bought a DCC controller set from them, I wanted a deltic some years ago and saw the the trader (They sell a lot of DCC items) at the Pontefract show, so asked him for a couple of pounds off the price he was asking ( quite literally £2.00 ) which would have been £20 more than Hattons price, he said no and thus Hattons had my money, I have not bought from the l retailer since so i think that by not giving a discount of £2 on a loco that he could have done he has lost out on all the decoders wagons coaches etc that I would have bought from him since, his loss = Frizinghall / Online retailers gain. 2. Leo on the oo9 section`s head shunt of Metaley behind the houses, and The new slope road that will go to the west end of the yard for road access where the ERF lorry is ( work in progress ).
  3. Is the removable section in between point-work ? would it be better to make it slightly bigger to the end of the head shunt from the coliery Spoons
  4. The only thing that bugs me with the 37 is that it doesn't have sprung buffers which is a huge let down for the price, my other older Bachmann 37 has them
  5. I have had a little shuffle around because of the OO9 point so the engine shed has moved , also got a Hornby 58 and a couple of Peco OO9 wagons. I have also added a pair of Walthers doors to the side of the factory ( Knightwing engine sheds )
  6. A little idea, having some OO9 track in the yard to move scrap into the works Hopefully I will be buying a point on Saturday but it depends if the local shop has one in stock !
  7. 43065 with and without full yellow front in intercity swallow livery, and in Virgin red livery
  8. A few more photos from this evening ( comments are welcome ).
  9. I have put a few points down and track to get an idea of what I want, Also made a start on painting some wagon loads but I think they would be better as a scrap pile
  10. I have ripped up the coal yard on Carr Crofts layout to make way for a experimental scrap metal yard using the boards from Carr Crofts to get ideas and practice things. I have decided that I am going to use the track plan on post 9 but I will need to build new boards for that one so it will be next year when I can do a new build, I am going to use the boards that I have until then so a bit of recycling is going on. The ripped up coal yard is now clear plywood as can be seen in the picture Simon
  11. As with most good things Carr Crofts has come to an end as did Henry Musgrave`s coal yard. It was good fun, and I have enjoyed everyone`s comments and advise, the research and making a layout. So the next thing for me is Metaley. For the time being Carr Crofts is to be a experiment for the new layout to test idea`s again to practice and gain more modelling skills try differing techniques and the like. The Carr Crofts layout is in a way being recycled probably until next year (when I will build new boards) but without the coal yard which has been ripped up to make way for a experimental scrap metal yard The last picture showing some wood again where the new lines are to be laid The metaley thread is http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/132703-metaley/ I hope people will have a look Simon
  12. One concern that I could think of is the radiators that could have an effect on something like unwanted expansion.
  13. Barnbow East, Barry That name could only come from you. A request from me is to add a cat somewhere to the layout and call it Polo, My Mrs`s cat was from there
  14. The class 91 set is close to being complete, I just need two First opens, the buffet coach was the latest addition to the rake
