  1. Chris, Photos of Lincs as requested. This one shows the contents of the kit. The etch contains enough for 5 pairs of couplings and also shows the steel lengths for the hooks, brass rod and tube for the pivot and fishing weights. This pic show a completed coupling (except the counter balance weight) and the jig for soldering the hook to the brass rod. Alan.
  2. Will do Chris. It will be a couple of days or so as my wife is away with the camera at the moment.
  3. I use the Lincs system on my O Gauge layout (link below) and fortunately have quite a few in stock for future builds. They are relatively easy to construct and require a "near enough" accuracy to work. I do hope they will eventually get released again. Alan.

I personally cannot get on with acrylics so tend to stick with enamels for most things. I do use the cheap tubes of acrylics from the likes of The Works though for scenic work just to provide base level of colour to things.
  10. I think I have generally used either a B or even top E before. Alan. Edit to say bass guitar strings can be useful for vacuum pipes and the likes as well.

I am visiting Sunday this year so hopefully will be a tad quieter. Alan.
  12. Hi Dave, Only just found this thread, some fantastic atmospheric and inspirational pictures. Thanks for taking the time to share with us all. Alan.
  13. Looking good. Are you sure you're not working in my workshop - I've got the exact same ruler and adjustable set square !!!
  14. Inspired by an article in a recent 0 Gauge Guild Gazette, I decided to have a go at a small derelict barn. Walls are foamboard with scribed DAS.
  15. Train in G Major - Lindisfarne
  16. Hi George, I have used guitar strings for wiper pick-ups, they work fine (not bass guitar strings though!) Alan.
  17. Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
  18. Google search finds RM July 1989 article by Peter Denny for building a model gasworks but the cover doesn't look familiar to me so I'm not sure if this is the one I was thinking about or not.
  19. I seem to recall a later (later than 1961) Railway Modeller article by Peter Denny as well but could be wrong.
  20. Looks great guys, sorry I missed it this weekend. When is the next outing?
  21. I can't believe I have only just spotted this cracking layout. Thanks for sharing and please keep posting your progress. Alan.

Chaz, Hope you don't mind the incursion, but this motorcycle kit (complete with spokes, although probably overscale) was from Blackberry Way. Unfortunately they do not appear to trade any longer.
  24. Looks great and something not often modelled as well.
