  1. We are, Cam & I are there both days with Colin on Saturday and Chris Sunday. Just been packing a few bits up! Al.
  2. I have to say Andy I really like this picture, it almost looks like the rain is hammering down! Al.
  3. I didn't realise Hither Green was still supplying loco's with Steam Heat during the sectorisation period.................................
  4. That would have been me. Hopefully I will have it in primer for DEMU, I'm just sorting lamp irons and windscreens tonight so its getting close.
  5. No layout but its looking like the we'll have the MIOG display there promoting the exhibition in November and anything Modern in 7mm we can lay our hands on! Not sure if I spoke to you at Stafford. Al.
  6. Sorry HJ short for Heljan! It'll come back, work and other things get in the way! Just finally done the door handles on my 26 so that's now going for some dirt and I have picked up the 37. First time in a few weeks I've done anything but it looks like I may have a deadline to sort a few bits for DEMU. Al.
  7. 37 's looking good. I can't wait to get my second one finished but lacking motivation at the moment! If you have some yellow paint that matches the HJ colour then its worth touching in the skirts, if not I believe the black can be carefully removed to reveal the yellow underneath, I've not tried this mind as mine have had the skirts removed! Also, if you've got them its worth popping the frost grills over the radiators, 183 only lost them when it became 884. If not I think I have at least one pair here somewhere, will just need a lick of blue paint. Al.
  8. Looking forward to this, though going to Doncaster on a weekend is not normally my idea of fun!
  9. Thats a good idea using a spare bufferbeam, I might have a go myself if I get another 37.
  10. Cheers. Yep all Pete's bits so far and some microstrip for the cowling. I must have done those cowlings about a dozen times before I was happy, kept snapping it! I've also got a couple of JLTRT ( I think) headlights for it. I must get it sorted so it can go for paint. Still need to do the other end! Not making much progress at the moment, I need a serious injection of motivation.
  11. If only these train operators would stop painting loco's in fancy liveries! You'll have to get down to Toton soon if what I have seen is right!!
  12. Well the mojo has well and truly gone at the moment. Not much progress to report at all. I was planning to keep these buildings under wraps until I had got somewhat further but hopefully putting them out in the open might just give me the push I need to crack on. These are the basic shells for the station buildings on Russel Street: Untitled by endoftheroad, on Flickr Untitled by endoftheroad, on Flickr Untitled by endoftheroad, on Flickr The left building in the above picture will be up against the back scene with the right building open at the rear at the front of the layout.
  13. I''m sure photographs from here have been posted before but I just noted this thread and thought i'd drop the below picture in. In 2010 I had an opportunity to go to the states for a week or so with my then girlfriend who was going for work, so while she was working I took myself out for a couple of days. One day I took a spin out to Oakland Jack London on a friends suggestion for a day photographing. This was my favorite shot from the trip: 2052 2010 Oakland Jack London 251006 (2) by endoftheroad, on Flickr Regards, Al.
  14. Some very inspiring buildings, I need to get cracking with some myself. Al.
  15. I was planning on picking one up at Doncaster or Telford but I seem to have landed an IWA to build and having seen Easybuild are looking to have MK1 Pullmans for Telford the Shark looks to have dropped down the list. I need to get my second 37 finished and the 101 DMU too along with some buildings. Will have to give up working as there are not enough hours!
  16. This one has now gone back for painting a nice shade of Red! Out of area for me, but it'll look good once its done. Not a lot of progress this week but one end of 37008 is pretty much done. I have only done one end as its been at Kettering GOG show today so folks can see the changes required from the other end. Once I have got it back this week it will be full steam ahead to do the other end and get it in primer. It will hopefully get finished ready to break cover at the Doncaster show in June all being well. Untitled by endoftheroad, on Flickr There is another little project on the go but I want it to have made a little more progress before revealing it.
  17. A Shark is next on my hit list and will be my first foray into a full brass kit!
  18. Long shot I suspect but does anyone have any scale drawings for BR MK2 coaches? Preferably Z or A's? I'm about to start cutting up some Big Big MK2s. Cheers, Al.
  19. Looking good. I'm about to do similar with my 37008, just waiting for my bits to arrive from Pete: Al
  20. A few bits and pieces progressed a little this week but the main thing that has been across the workbench has been a 60 which appeared to have been involved in somewhat of a rough shunt. Al.
  21. Its coming together, just waiting a new roof for the DMBS as I bent it out of shape trying to improve the roof line! Thanks for the tip & yes I am planning on illuminating destination blind.
  22. Now for a bit of dirt! (well, maybe a lot!!!)
