A bit of lead in the bogey to aid adhesion might help too. I have done this with the pony trucks on my prairies.

I have lots of pictures of the Kingsbridge goods shed and Kris on here has scale drawings for Gara Bridge and Avonwick if you would like them PM him or me. Good plan too, did he produce a standard goods shed design or was that a bit beneath him?

I have got a Bachmann 2251 in readiness for stopping work on Mondays next month, which I intend to fit with ultrascale wheels to join the fun.

Looking very smart, the interlocking bricks look very good. Dry brushing something that size will take less than 5 mins, I guarantee the time spent will be repaid in improved finish. The work on the building design deserves that bit more effort on paint IMO.

That is a beast of a plow! Looking at weather reports this week we could do with a few like it on the roads.

I thin the Citadel foundation paints by about 30% especially for this sort of job. If you add a tiny bit of washing up liquid you can slow down the drying time.
Personally I do the mortar wash first, then dry brush the brick colours, then add tonal variation to individual bricks. This works on 2mm scale brick so should work fine in 4mm.

The only problem I had with the mesh was clogging the holes with glue. Araldite rapid worked best as you could apply it to the frames or posts then clamp the mesh to it. Paint has to be done thinly too or it clogs up the holes as well.
If you are modelling more recent weather you could just dump an entire watering can full of water over it all, regardless of season!

Seconded on the coaling tower, a mighty monolith indeed!

Really nice. Must be nice to have a personal laser!
Did you get a white cat to go with it?
Nice results.

For sculpting I prefer Games Workshop green stuff, it's a putty. It takes a while to dry but is easy to sculpt if you dip the tools in water to stop the putty sticking to them. It is particularly good for folds and creases, just put a bit of superglue on where you are going to stick it as it needs a bit of help sticking to plastic.

The psychological tormentors are worse, at least you get a bit of a laugh if one of your mates gets picked up by the collar and thrown into the corridor!
I like those prints, were they commissioned by the railway or bought from local photographers?

Looks pretty smart work from here! I would say you were a P4 modeller the minute you started making the layout, its a state of mind (as opposed to a statement that you are mental!)
Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Well done! It's funny how teachers can stay in the memory. The weasel sounds like a proper bstrd. We had a temperamental chemistry master called "Doc Death" who was famous for bodily throwing people from his class if they failed to respect his subject or person.

Well done, the only criticism I have is the lack of train sound, we would all enjoy the grumble of a big diesel. Good traffic and camera work, you would certainly get into trouble in the UK for getting so close to our fenced in railways. The container/ semi trailer train was a monster!

I was sat in the Bucks G20 the week before Xmas, it now only has the end seats to the original pattern. I will be up there again shortly if you need any specific pictures.

Welcome, look forward to hearing and seeing more! Sounds like some proper modelling too.

Interesting topic, anyone done one with the motors still in place on DCC? Or do they protrude into the cab?

Your wiring sounds just like mine!

Good job he was off the footplate, the fire on there looked like it was going to roast his chesnuts....

Well done! It's a big and satisfying step when something moves under power for the first time.

Generally questions belong on the forums not in blog posts, look here for what goes where

Has he been tested for drugs
If he's pedalling back from Amsterdam I would certainly stop and search him!

By every piece of track I mean every bit! You can solder small sections together at the fishplates. I also have separate power feeds for each set of points, fed from droppers at the toe end. I realise taking up large sections of track is a pain, also I have a second radius minimum for points, with the longest Peco ones for main lines. Hornby ones look quite sharp to my eye, I have not used their newer track however.
Hope you get the running sorted as it is particularly annoying when trains won't run reliably, as I have had similiar problems I can sympathise.
LNER fish trains.

Also colours varied quite a bit as paint mixing on goods stock was very much an on site job. Colour reproduction in photos is another moot point, all look great from here!
