  3. Tin bath no way to describe the finest loco ever designed with the help of the GWR made it more reliable, all the plans are in the NRM so should not be difficult to build Donny works still there as well but dont paint them silver.
  4. Bring back the A4,s far more reliable than all new fangled elecmatricity hauling a Gresley set .HEAVEN.Pendolinos good idea but do up the seats they are like planks of wood in peaseant class.

  6. The coal depot was by Rabans Lane my ex worked there for a while busy place ,but now a scrap yard .The firm that made farm machinery was New Holland a part of Clayson who are still manufacturing bailers.I used to go to the station every morning in the sixties when I worked for Smiths and had to clear up the bookstall on the station.Quite often I met the paper train and sorted the paper rounds out and then went for a coffee and cheese roll in the cafe one morning a van split the points at the north end of the platform all hushed up of course.
  7. There was a lovely GWR wooden goods shed before the Oxford Rd bridge ,also the farm equipment on flat cars ,and a regular newspaper train with a Hymeck on the front ,plus the regular parcels to Northampton usualy pulled by a 25 .We had a real mixture of units at the end of BR operation due to the regular units falling apart daily ,Marylebone grabbed anything that would move and some that tried but didnt! The old loco shed was still about but derelict ,became a wharehouse now flats,I agree about the oil depot never saw a single wagon there .By the way the Risboro MRC looked into renting the wooden goods shed as a club room but BR didnt want to know they had other ideas and were in cahoots with the council.Dont forget the station entrance was on the front of the building not were it is now ,the regular ticket collector was a great guy and only passed away a few years ago.The buildings in great Western St were very interesting in design all swept away now of course one was a pub and another became a wholesale newsagents depot.Have a look in the Old Aylesbury books there are many photos of the station in them, the Bucks Herald newspaper have the details.
  8. Coming along nicely looking forward to seeing your group layout at Model Rail Scotland will be a long day out but worth it I think.Like the attention to detail with the grass think I will have to have a look at those fence posts to use on my layout.
  9. Very old film filmed on the light railway near Alton in Hants consisting of a train crash supposedly caused by the IRA dont know who was in it or anything else about it.
  10. Could you not run the stock for the Burngullow sand trains into the yard and then back up the line ,thats what I meant.Good job they demolished that place in Bletchley the parking was diabolical and the place was in danger of falling down if they didnt spend a fortune on it.If the show is in Bracknell you could possibly try Pukka pies as they sell lots of them in the south.
  11. Liked the railway scenes in Riddle of the Sands lovely steam locos and coaches, also Miss Marple with Margaret Rutherford on the GWR line from Paddington all in black and white Castles, Kings ,Halls and lots of GWR coaches.
  12. Do the Manchester Glasgow TPI,s have good passenger loadings as it seems a long way on a dmu comfortable as the 185,s are?

  14. With regard to the bent staging, a GWR staton seat could possibly do the job, sturdy prototypical ,and will provide a comfotable place to rest .
  15. Is it a trial in preperation for ole work, now that would be interesting.
  16. Both layouts at one show ,just run between the two it will make you fit ,or else put El Gringo on a wire bet he would complain suspended above the two!
