      Piston broke ?

      Or are you sober ?

  2. Back on line after a week away. 41 pages of posts to read, will Coachmann have ripped it up and started again?

    1. coachmann

      coachmann

Behave! Peco doesn't get ripped up, it is gently removed and the sponge inlay used to stuff my computer chair...

That's like saying Rolls Royces never break down - they merely glide to a halt.

  3. Why is it that when you seem to be having a better day someone comes along and spoils it.

Unlikely, still RT but Wolverhampton next

  6. What is "Modern Image"? When I had my first 00 layout the last BR Standard 2-6-4T was only a year old, so what I now model must have been "Modern Image" then.

    1. Jenny Emily

      Jenny Emily

Unfortunately manufacturers seem to be stuck in a rut when it comes to 'Modern image' with anything diesel or electric powered. The era system is also ripe for adding era ten, as era 9 is getting on a bit and EWS becomming DB Schenker is a far bigger change than Br pre-TOPS to post TOPS blue.

  7. OMG! I am being head-hunted, Minus - interferes with modelling time. Plus - increased modelling budget.

You're lucky the site was down for a few days then, otherwise it would have been 129 pages !

Looks as if I picked a good time to go away. Otherwise I could have done some modelling.

Don't worry, he's already hooked and not 3 yet. Told me the other day that the pair of 37s we were looking at were different. He was right, it was the horns in different places.

  10. BBC says it's supposed to end at 11 11. Given that the Maya were at GMT -6 that gives us until 17.11 here

  12. Went by Crewe Market today on the way to the show. Found what we used to refer to as the Four 'alls. There's the Cheese 'all, the Market 'all, the Town 'all and a big open space.

    1. TheSignalEngineer

      TheSignalEngineer

The big open space was where we used to meet up with ladies of doubtful repute.

    2. Michael Delamar
  13. Remebering "Uncle Ernie", killed at Delville Wood. Never knew him but the family will never forget.

    1. Debs.

      Debs.

We can only but imagine what they felt, waiting together at the bottom of those ladders, listening for the whistle to call them to their fate......

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

Did you set up an 0906* number for them to call?

    2. Steve Taylor

      Steve Taylor

...answer: how many hours have you got? A copnservative estimate would suggest take the number of hours you have, double it add 3 and you're still no where near the number of hours needed.

  16. Grandson wants to go train riding tomorrow :-)

      Kylestrome

I wonder where he got that idea?

  18. The object of the present task is to glue some whitemetal clasp brake shoes to the secondhand pipe wagon I acquired recently. Result so far is three in place, the other firmly fixed between my thumb and forefinger. Good job I'm proficient with the left-handed scalpel.

  22. At the suggestion of The Management I'm making the most of the bad weather and heading for Hazel Grove Show.

  23. One Bachmann Mk1 roof de-ribbed and repainted. Trouble is it makes the other 5 look as if they need doing to match.

    1. Bob Reid

      Bob Reid

A certain outcome - so much better without the "ribs" resistance of course is futile

  24. Grandson very useful, has decided we are going to Bury tomorrow and York next week.

      Mallard60022

  25. The days I remember in the 1960s were generally pretty good. The ones I don't remember were probably even better.

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

That's the thing about the '60s. If you can remember what happened, then you weren't really there....!
