The real dissapointment though (for the tourist) is that they would have emerged right next to all of the parts of London they wanted to see, so had no reason to use the Underground.

Thereby missing the chance to educate our 'merican cousins on the urban legend meaning of "Mind The Gap"

Ever thought your rock-face was not textured enough -

Then there's that odd bit of faded lichen from the bottom of the scenic bits box and the odd square of diamond foil from day 8 of your week's strip of tablets, weathered to a nice rust colour.

The grey fine mesh fabric covers the chalk escarpment, rising many metres to the west of the station. When you see what happens at Seaford Head, Birling Gap and Beachy Head you will understand why that is a good idea.

Other such situations exist in South and South East Asia happen too. I remember during the film War Photographer (about photojournalist James Nachtwey) another railway ploughing through a slum with buildings not much further than the loading gauge.

A four coach Motorail train including a restaurant car.

Fairly standard Motorail formation for many years. In maroon days, likely an RU but later an RB. I thought it was usually FK coaches as required to provide one compartment per car but there's a 2nd class coach there?

And Carflats at the back
