With apologies to Sir John Betjeman...

When melancholy April comes to Staplegrove
And pasties and pies are heated on the stove
The poplars near the hall are a dancing sunlight grove,
With their swish and swish they form a treasure trove,
Where the sound of little breakers
Spreading out along the surf-line
When the estuary's filling
In the cove.

Then Pencarrow-on-the-Hill's a rocky island
And Pencarrow churchyard full of sailor's graves
And the constant chuff and grunting of the pannier as it's shunting
Is the level of the Camel turned to waves
And the rumble of the railway
Is the thunder of the rollers
As they gather for the plunging
Into caves

There's a storm cloud to the westward over Newquay,
There's a line of harbour lights at Perivale,
Is it rounding rough Pentire in a flood of sunset fire
The little fleet of trawlers under sail?
Can those boats be only roof tops
As they stream along the skyline
In a race for port and Padstow
With the gale?

On the platform of the station, Bodmin North
Is a ring of ancient mystery and lore
Was it put there by the Beast as it travelled from the east
Heading for the lee of the grain store?
Who will ever know the truth ?
Will the circle ever fade?
But maybe it will last for
Evermore.

Bit of a pause going on with Pencarrow and RMweb posting at the moment. I've succumbed to addressing the domestic decorating backlog. The house was looking a bit tatty and a couple of the out of the way areas still had bare plaster from when the extension was built in 2011. I may be some time...

Any excuse not to finish those points...

1 room finished. 1 room part way through. It's a big open plan room though and is taking quite a few tins of paint.

Wondering if this might work...

Nope.   :nono:   :scratchhead:  :offtopic:

The Mythbusters have tried it, several times...

If you look online, I'm sure you can find videos of the entire episode.  One of their "test cases" has slow motion video of a cloud of multi-colored paint, which is quite spectacular...

The GWR locos and stock will be used on night services with the train room lights off.

You'd better get some lamps for them then. :imsohappy:

Just received my narrow planet plates (including a couple of 83Es) and they are excellent, especially at the price. I found it a tad tricky painting the white on the shed code and smokebox plates (white first, varnish and dry thoroughly, then black and gently remove from the raised characters when still slightly soft) but is well worth the hassle I think.
