  1. I've just completed a laser cut card kit by MMR models of a Type 15 signal box. Very pleased with the kit (and email support). I prefer mdf for brickwork but the card in this kit works well with the timber prototype. ChrisH
  2. I'm also told Humbrol 77 is a good substitute as well but I'm yet to try it... Chris
  3. This may help - my first attempt in 7mm now sold. I'm looking at something a little smaller in 7mm using cut down Setrack points so I can keep some of the stock - most of my smaller locos seem quite happy running over it.. Chris H
  4. Get a grip man....of course you do...
  5. Penmaenbach is at Weston Super Mare on 14 January. https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/event/y2024/25857-BurnhamandDistrictModelRailwayClub_Exhibition Regular readers will know I do like to ring the changes so a new signalbox may be deployed... A BR LMR Type 15 laser cut kit from MMR models with a very few additions. Chris H
  6. I asked the same question and was told on here they clip in and no screws are needed (unlike the Deltic) I'm yet to try mine... Chris
  7. In true RMweb style...... Surely you mean referenda? Or do you.....? Interesting topic...
  8. Mine is as yet unopened....a treat awaits...
  9. Mr Castens will do Mail order I think? Edit - I've now just seen Coombe Barton's post above - he agrees!
  10. Please remember that as one gets older one needs better lighting....and many of us are knocking on a bit....just saying Chris H
  11. I shall follow with interest - I also have one to try.. Chris H

  13. I'd be interested to know how you did the grubby sheen on the manors? Chris H
  14. This may help: https://railsofsheffield.com/products/revolution-trains-rt-cl18-be-001-clayton-class-18-18001-cbd90-beacon-rail-hybrid-battery-diesel-locomotive https://www.flickr.com/photos/103471893@N02/albums/72177720313497887/ Chris H
  15. I did the same because I'd seen a comment about a January delivery and I had a new card last month due to a loss and replacement of all my cards with new numbers etc. SLW are a small outfit and I thought that it was easier for me to tell them now than wait to be contacted when they tried to take payment from an old card. A few people appear to have done the same following posts here and elsewhere according to my brief chat with Phil Sutton. Chris H
  16. I was really talking about the overall presentation of the oval...
  17. I mentioned it but I think I got away wth it....
  18. I'd rather think of it as different approaches rather than levels...no one has set out a table of evaluation criteria defining performance levels as far as I know...although I am aware in general terms of the NMRA Achievement Programme but that does seem as broad as it is high...
  19. I like the approach by James Hilton set out in his latest book..."The Art of Railway Modelling" "I make model railways not models of railways" In my opinion your model railway can be just what you want it to be....and do what ever you want it to do be that operation or anything else... Has anyone mentioned Rule 1 yet? Chris H
  20. I was very taken with this layout by Chris Nevard...possiby tighter than 3rd radius though...
  21. Its third radius - surely that's OK.......😉
  22. I'm quite enjoying this at the moment.....Peco Set track on the dining room table....great fun...
