  1. More from Westbury and Eastleigh ..on my way to the Southampton Show
  2. My Flickr album of photos - captions to follow...click on the cat...
  3. I travelled down from Keynsham by train. Cracking show, great day out and an opportunity to catch up with quite few modeling chums. Photos to follow! Chris H
  4. If its that or nothing I know what I'd go for....well done to the organisers for perservering... Chris H
  5. I have no stats obvioulsy - I'm not anti Acc - I own a fair few 37s and numerous wagons but I don't like this unwarranted negativity about anyone. and I've found SLW's customer service to be excellent - as with Acc Chris
  6. Really - how may Class 24s were reported as sent back or criticised on forums? Chris
  7. I understand they are a small 2 person firm.....and the 4 weeks you quote did include the Christmas break...and they are not just wrapping up locos..... "We’ve been very busy since we’ve been back from Christmas due to correspondence about customers orders, updating card details etc." Chris
  8. Having just rung to pay I am told by Rainbow Railways that they will receive theirs on Thursday with dispatch to follow. Chris H
  9. I'd have expected an organisation like Key to be able to get group bookings and discounts - PI certainly offer reductions for "business rates"..your average modeller is not going to benefit from that... The more I think about it the more disappointed I am - not that I've been invited of course!
  10. PI get funny if you squeeze 3 bigguns into a twin room - and ofter a PI twin is now a double and a couch bed....nice..
  11. A bit awkward if there's 3 or 5 of you - a twin at the Premier Inn near NEC is £184 on a flexible rate for 26-28 April...
  12. I assume this won't be as pictured? https://www.railwaytouring.net/bath-and-gloucester
  13. To be fair to PF they do have a lot of stewards on their trains....they seem to spend a lot of their time in the vestibules but mainly stopping those who choose to ignore the "please on no account stick anything out of the windows...." announcements etc. On a recent tour they were seriously considering ejecting some of their travellers...I don't know if they did.
  14. I'm getting one or two emails offering chunky savings on certain models - it seems to be working. https://modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/special-offers/special-offers-in-oo-scale.html?p=2
  15. I've switched to White Spirit from IPA having read similar articles. Very happy so far. I've tried Inox - I bought some on line easily here in the UK - it seems fine but I think it also has a lubricant in it which is not always helpful.
  16. I have to assume its a very different financial model with (I think) everyone paying their way - our UK model of exhibitors getting their expenses (and their own hospitality area in some areas) is not the way over there...and traders/manufacturers outnumbered layouts about 15:1 when I attended in 2007.
