  3. Good morning everyone It’s a little bit duller than of late, but I don’t mind that as today I’m hoping to fill in a dip in the block paving at the front. It’s not a big dip, but it does collect water a bit when it rains and it’s annoying the hell out of me. Hopefully it won’t take long, dinner time maybe. After loosing our cats ‘Bill and Ted’ a couple of years ago, we still expect them to fly out of the kitchen as soon as it’s opened for the first time and race up the stairs to see who can jump on the bed first. Back later

  5. Good evening everyone Well after my efforts in the kitchen this morning I spent the afternoon in the workshop. As I’d only got about an hour or so I didn’t start any modelling, instead I tidied my workbench. Finding homes for all those little bits and pieces that will come in handy one day items etc. The end result is that I now have a 4ft section of workbench that’s clear. Pretty soon I’ll be able to do some proper model making. After tea we had a quick trip to Waitrose to buy the stuff that we can’t get locally. We also have a blood pressure monitor, I’ve used to record Sheila’s blood pressure for a week a few times now, the GP is fine with the results I’ve taken, so I must be doing something right! John. Sorry to read about Sandy, as a few have already said, pets are members of the family and they do leave a big hole when they’re gone. Goodnight all

  8. Good afternoon everyone Over the last few years I’ve made a few changes to the front garden. I’ve added a couple of borders and this has resulted in having to remove a few paving blocks to make the borders. So I now have a few spare paving blocks, what to do with them? They were initially stored behind the shed, but as I now have the water butt there, I had to find another home for them. So, taking some inspiration from Carl André I’ve created an art work and I’ve called it.......................... Another load of B’locks!
  9. Good morning everyone Once Sheila has left for her Zumba class, I’m going for a walk to buy a few ingredients for the curry that has been requested for Wednesday’s tea. Once I return home, I’ll make a start on the curry sauce, I’ll also make the base for a chocolate cheesecake, which has also been requested for Wednesday’s tea. Back later.

  12. Good evening everyone Well this morning I cut the box hedge at the front, I also did a spot of dead heading of the roses in the back garden. After dinner it was far to hot to spend much time outside, so I did a bit of sorting out in the workshop instead. Over the last few weeks I’ve come across a quite a few old Hornby spares, so I’m getting them all together and once I’ve sorted out what I want and don’t want, I’ll stick them on Ebay and see how much someone is willing to shell out for it all. I’ll do the same with some duff DCC chips too, it seems that people will buy any old rubbish these days. A fair part of the evening was spent on the phone to my brother in Canada. As is usually the case when we speak, we didn’t discuss anything important, just general chit chat. Before that though, Sheila and I had a walk round the garden, (it doesn’t take long) and we inspected the roses. This year we have quite a good show with several either in bloom or about to bloom. Andy. Happy birthday. Goodnight all
  13. Good morning everyone The sun is shining so I’m off outside, I may be some time!

  15. Good evening everyone Well I’ve spent most of the day in the garden. After tidying the shed, which took all of 30 minutes I then decided to trim some of the straggling branches of our evergreen clematis, I then did some weeding and as usual when you start one thing in the garden, it lead to other things being noticed. The end result is the garden as a whole does look a little bit more tidy and I’ve even made a temporary repair on my riddle, that had one or two large holes where there shouldn’t be any! After a welcome muggertea this afternoon, I sat on the sofa and did a spot of eyelid inspection, I was soon accompanied by Sheila who also decided to inspect her eyelids too. Later after we’d both woken up, she said I sounded like ‘Darth Vader’ when I was resting. That’s ok I said, you sounded like ‘Babe’! After tea we sat down and watched a bit of recorded TV with a nice bottle of red, mmmmmmmmmmmm. Neil. Happy birthday Andy. Look after yourself mate. Goodnight all

  17. Good morning everyone Just got up, after a bit of a lie-in. I’ve not got much planned for today. It looks a bit grey here so I’m not going to do anything that I can’t quickly stop if it rains, maybe tidy up the shed after just dumping everything back in it the other day. Back later

  19. Good evening everyone Well, we managed to get to the Trafford Centre for just gone 10 o’clock and it was fairly busy, but not as busy as it was when we left at 11:30. I made my way to WHS to pick up a few magazines and also get myself a pen refill for the hand made pen I was given as a Christmas present, as it had run out. With shopping bags fully laden we made our way home via the butchers for our weekly meat rations. I took advantage of the fact that there were some pasties in the hot cupboard and purchased one for my dinner. This evening we had James and Amelia round for tea, a very pleasant evening was had, but when he left, he forgot to pick up his first aid kit! I hope he doesn’t need it in between now and next week! It’s been a bit of a strange day, dull one minute then bright the next. However, day has definitely ended on a brighter note. Deb’s, nice to see you back. Goodnight all
  20. Good morning everyone Breakfast has been consumed and I’m currently waiting for Sheila to finish getting ready and then we are off to the Trafford Centre. Not my favourite place to visit during a school holiday, but if you get there for when it opens (10:00) you beat a lot of the crowds. Andy. I hope your day goes well, sometimes watching kids have a bit fun can be great fun in itself, despite the noise! Enjoy your evening out with Sarah. Back later
  21. Good evening everyone Well the package that I was waiting in for arrived just as I was taking my first bite of my sandwich at dinner time. Anyway, whilst I was waiting in, I did a bit of tidying up in the cellar and the boot of the car. I’d got quite a few first aid kits from work before I finished, so I’ve put one in the workshop, one in the cellar, one in my car and I’ve sorted out enough to make one that I can give to James when he and Amelia come for tea tomorrow and one for Ian too! This evening, after a light tea I took myself off to Salford Quays and went open water swimming again tonight. The water is starting to warm up a little more now, hopefully in a week or so’s time, it should be warm enough to go in wearing just swimming trunks, instead of my wetsuit. When I arrived I was informed that I’ve been credited with the 5 swims I’d purchased last year, but hadn’t used. So with last weeks swim and tonight’s used, I still have another three left, so I’m one big happy bunny! Ian. Glad to see you’ve finally handed in your notice, I’m sure you won’t regret it. Goodnight all
