  2. Good evening everyone We’ve had quite a lot of cloud here today and most of the morning was spent working in the shade. But just after dinner it got quite dark and for a short while looked like it would rain, but it didn’t, although we could really do with some. However, the work in the garden has progressed and I now have only about 1 1/2sq m of grass left and I’ve also replaced a few of the paving slabs in front of the workshop’s decking area. After tea this evening I had every intention of going swimming tonight, but after spending the morning in the garden, some of the afternoon in the workshop and then baking a carrot cake for Wednesday nights tea, I felt a bit too tired, so reluctantly I decided that staying home was probably the safer option. Typical of water companies taking there time to fix water leaks, United Utilities seem to be one of the worst AND they’re currently threatening a hosepipe ban if we don’t cut down on our water usage! It’s a bloody good job they’re not sent to fix gas leaks is all I will say on the matter. Goodnight all.

  6. Good morning everyone There was a bit of cloud first thing this morning, but the that now seems to be making way for the sun. Once Sheila has left for her Zumba class, I’m off out to the garden, where I’ll remove some more grass. Back later.
  7. Good evening everyone Well we all had a great time at Charlie’ Birthday bash, the food was very good and I fear I ate too much. We finally got home around 5:00, made ourselves a hot drink and once that was consumed did a spot of eyelid inspection. After that not a lot was done, it was far too hot. If it’s like this tomorrow, which it is predicted to be, I will enjoy my swim tomorrow evening. Goodnight all

  9. Good morning everyone A quick look in before we set off to the pub, where we will celebrate Charlie’s birthday with both sets of families, 22 in total if everyone turns up. It should be very entertaining and a lot of fun, no doubt someone will drink too much, it won’t be me, despite the fact that we’re walking there. Back later
  10. Good evening everyone Well it’s been another beautiful sunny day here in the northwest, but there was some cloud around today, something that I’ve not seen for a good few days now. But it didn’t stop me doing a fair bit of gardening before dinner, mainly removing the soil from the grass that I dug up a few days ago. The amount that’s now left is approximately 3-3.5 sq m and hopefully that will be gone by next weekend. As I mentioned earlier, we intended to go to Waitrose after dinner, this we did and as predicted the roads and the shop itself were very quiet! The wine and beer stocks have been increased and a bottle of red was opened once I’d watered the plants, we rather enjoyed it too! Goodnight all
  11. Good morning everyone The sun is shining so I’m off outside to get a little bit of gardening done. Then after dinner we’re off to Waitrose to get a few bits and pieces we can’t pick locally, hopefully it will be quite then. Phil. Happy birthday Back later

  15. Good evening everyone On the way home from the Trafford Centre we called at the butchers to pick up the weekly meat rations and we were lucky enough to get a couple of pasties too! As predicted, it was a bit manic here this afternoon however, Charlie, was his usual laid back self, but his siblings were very excited. He was pleased with his present, although to call it a present doesn’t really seem right, as we gave him a cheque. But, it was no ordinary cheque, we’d been saving a small amount every month since his birth, so in the intervening 18 years, it’s grown to be quite a substantial amount. I think he had to look at it a number of times for it to really sink in. Just after tea we had a phone call from Mike asking if they could call round as the main road they have to travel along to there House was closed due to a serious road accident. Naturally we said it was fine and they arrived a few minutes later and we then spent the next couple of hours chatting. We then opened up a bottle of Shiraz and watched the Eric Clapton documentary from last weekend. Pete. Happy birthday Goodnight all
  16. Good morning everyone The sun is shining and we will be off to the Trafford Centre shortly to get a few bits and pieces. Later today we will be visited by Vickie. Ian and Charlie, who’s 18 today, then later Ian will pick up Ava, Evie and Max and bring them too, so it will be a bit mad later. Andrew. Happy birthday.
  17. Good evening everyone A very pleasant evening spent with a couple of friends, good food, nice beer, what more could you ask for? As usual we had quite a bit to catch up on but we didn’t change the world! The roads were fairly busy on the way there, but thankfully the aircon in the car kept us nice and cool. On our return journey a section of the M60 was closed and there were detour signs about, but as I knew the area, I was able to bypass these and take a slightly different route, which didn’t add too much time to the trip. Although Sheila did keep asking where we were as she though I was lost, I mean, as if! Goodnight all
  18. Good morning everyone The sun is shining and Sheila has just left for her Zumba class, so once again I’m home alone! The plan for today is to take it easy, as after dinner we are travelling to meet up with some friends at our favourite watering hole in Derbyshire. So my first task will be to fit a new blind to the workshop door and then finalise the car insurance. Back later

  20. I don’t think the chemo I was on was a strong as most other chemo, in fact it was quite mild when compared to most, but chemo none the less. I also had 37 doses of targeted radiotherapy, once again I didn’t suffer any of the burning than can arise from such treatment. I was told to expect to give up swimming at some time or other, as the water treatment in the pool may make things worse. Luckily I was able to carry on, but it did make me very very tired!
  21. Good evening everyone After returning from the big orange DIY shed, I carried on in the garden, more grass has been removed, all that’s left now is a bit about the size of a large dining table. After dinner I spent about 40 minutes in the workshop adding a few more bits of coal to Max’s tender, as once yesterday’s efforts had dried, I noticed a few bare bits. After school we had Ava, Evie and Max round for tea and tonight’s menu was fish and chips, followed by vanilla ice cream and jam. We the. Had a surprise visit as Vickie and Ian came round to pick up the kids, which we weren’t expecting and ended up staying for a while. The evening was ended with a bottle of Doombar as we watched the last episode of the Bridge. Goodnight all.
