  1. The Bachmann 94xx is excellent, up to date detail sound ready / fitted. The 64xx isn't far behind. Perhaps Bachman have a trick up their sleeve as per the 37. That said I'll definitely be getting a few of these beauties sound fitted.
  2. Have Bachmann stopped selling Dynamis?
  3. We followed this down by car becoming more and more worried watching events unfold as we had booked for the return. Stayed overnight at Plymouth and the following day had the most memorable return run with Hinton Manor and Hagley Hall. Thanks for all the efforts.
  4. On the overhead warning flash supplied it states that you must check the position of the sliding switches on the PCB depending on how you will be operating your loco. Can I assume that factory fitted sound locos have the switches set ready for an ESU sound decoder?
  5. Tried to purchase 2 from Accurascale today. Keep getting blocked by something called Revolut which does not respond to my details. I've purchased quite a lot directly from Accurascale and never had so much trouble. Any help welcome.
  6. That's what I suspect but would appreciate any confirmation. No information in the supplied instructions.
  7. Picked up from another forum that slightly loosening the 2 screws either side of the wheels on the cab ends improves free running particularly over points and curves. I have tried that and there is a definite improvement but still get slight hesitancy at times. The screws are extremely tight.
  8. I have 2 and both are the same. I've fitted 18 pin decoders and F0 needs to be on together with F1 for no 1 end lights and cab lights and F2 for no 2 end. Not found any combination that puts the interior lights on. I have only used a 4 function decoder however.
  9. I'm not sure the G2as could be turned at Merthyr. This classic image of an Abergavenny train about to depart from Merthyr Tydfil shows the tender back cab fitted to many of Abergavenny's allocation due to the need to travel tender first.
  10. I've edited your post as I found them one of THE trickiest units to fit a decoder on. Never could get them to run as well after having had to remove the wheels and springs to fit the decoder. Hope they are not the same and the next 18 interface may offer hope of an easier fit.
  11. Still no sign of the sound fitted versions?
  12. All 3 versions of Kernow 47 003 now showing in stock.
  13. Bit confused. I thought this was a Kernow exclusive.
  14. Grimy Times has a couple of Blue FYE weathered and re-numbered "Atlas & Samson"
  15. My thoughts as well but as I generally run sound on dcc these days that's £700. I had another look at my Vi 37 422. Not that bad and running well (£49.99 in 2007). Maybe I'll just go for Cwmbran??
  16. I think Bachmann have got this right. I have no end of problems with Hornby Class 60s and Hattons Class 66s. My D9020 Nimbus arrived yesterday and after an hour or so running around light engine with no problems even through standard radius 2 point work, I coupled up to a rake of 8 Hornby Pullmans. Immediately derailment after derailment occurred and it was the loco that was being derailed by the 1st coach. One of the chains detached from the body as a result (Now re-fixed with a blob of glue). I have managed to improve things a bit by fitting a smaller (with smaller hook) Bachmann tension lock but have to be careful especially on negotiating reverse curves even though radius 4. The kinematic couplings are possibly too lively or too lightly sprung.
  17. Glad I got my Granges, Halls, Castles, Kings, 28xxs, 41xx,42xxs, 52xxs, 72xxs, Collett & Hawksworth coaches when I did. No need to buy any more Hornby now.
  18. Kernow have some good savings in their virtual Warley sale. Sound Fitted Bachmann NSE 117 £299.99 and Blue / Grey & NSE 121 £189.99
  19. I always propel my sets. Better with the older large non swivel couplings on the coaches to match the power cars but still possible with the newer swivel couplings. With those usually have to fit a large coupling to both end coaches and fixed straight between coaches (eg Roco type or Bachmann pipe type.)
  20. Drivers seem to be finding it hard to get the Forest of Dean or the Welsh Valleys where I have placed my pre-orders. Still no sign of any in stock.
  21. Hattons have a good number of mint s/h WR 2800/2884s DCC fitted for £110 & £99
  22. The Arriva Trains Wales version with the revised livery and sound had them. (32-939DS). I think they look ok. The odd thing however is that whereas Bachmann normally fit a driver to their diesel locomotives, they don't with units. So a nice sprinkling of passengers with no driver or conductor.
