  4. Should they manufacture this part to tighter tolerances? Probably, but that will probably increase cost. I don't see why it would cost more, in the past it been done right, so i don't see why its not now right?.

  6. Hi My Father dead a few weeks ago and i have been up to his house to start sorting out his collection of Railway photos dating from 1962- late 1980's. I think it is going to take me some time to do this as well as photos there are a vast amount of slides as well, so i will start with the 1960's with steam and work my way forward or group them in different threads?. For my Father David Rees, 1951-2017 thank you for leaving me such memories. Darren. Old Oak Comom 1962. My Father at Waterloo 1966. Aberdeen Commonwealth, Waiting to back on the turntable ready to leave for its train. Nine Elms shed, 1967. A4 leaving Waterloo after running with a special , Heading back to Nine Elms to be coaled watered and turned for the return trip. 1967.
  7. Hornby website price £189.99, I have noticed this with Rails putting up the price above RRP. They did this with the H class at £135.99 and the Hornby price on their site £119.99. This seem IMO that they are just cashing in on short runs, big demand, I pay any price to have it. Putting me off them a bit. If this is right and they where asking £225.00 for none sound we have broke the £200.barrier.
  8. I must be missing something here, Fully made coach £13.50, Bits to make a coach, £25.50?.
  9. £99.99 on their site at the mo. https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/locomotives/sentinel-4wdh-19.html https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/locomotives/railroad-br-class-55-the-king-s-own-scottish-borderer.html
  10. Thing is this has a knock on effect, Saw a loco at a show, But did not buy it that time, Saw same second hand dealer, Price had gone up. Asked him how come two weeks ago it was £10.00 cheaper, "Hornby put their prices up last week", so yes you will see a small rise in the second hand market.
  11. This is the price they have today on their site, this my be amended with the new price increases
  12. I will be going to my Dad's old house soon, as i need to sort out all the railway stuff he has. I know he has thousands of photo going back to the early 1960's through to the mid 80's, i want to sort them out and will post them here once done. Darren

  15. Could do with a B8/9 point, the double slip , i hope is bigger than the code 75 one, long wheel base loco seem to slow down a bit running through the one i had on my layout.
  16. Very nice indeed, yes needs a few tweaks, But it's getting there.
  17. As they sit on private land, I need to speak to the owner first, once i have arranged this i get some photos of them, lots.
  18. If the old turntable at OC went to the Swanage Railway ,do's anyone know where the will be using it, been to the line and and can not work out where they could put it?.
  19. I was wondering how i could find out if any preservation society would be interested in this. i have been told that four coaches from this line are sitting in a field down in Devon, two being used as a chicken shed and two others as storage. I include a photo of the coaches that are in this field, these where used on the Bideford and Appledore railway that closed in 1913.
  20. Hi I gather the couplings are made of brass, Have you thought of chemically blacking them?. Must say the layout looks superb, carry on the good work.
