  1. Hi John, Starting from the left. Where you have the straight track leading into long curves, use SL-E91s to begin the curves thereby starting the storage lines earlier. You will probably also need to replace each of the 3-way points with pairs of SL-E91s. Hope that helps.
  2. Ambis do some attractive insulating fishplates but I'm not sure they're exactly what you're after as they are fragile. https://ambisengineering.co.uk/ (About 40% of the way down the 'New Products' page.)
  3. I suppose it might be possible to cut off Crimea from both ends and devote enough resources to keep the Russians bottled up whilst diverting Ukrainian forces elsewhere. In making my point about more advanced aircraft I failed to emphasise that it is vital the west provides missile systems as fast as possible and as much ammunition for the old ex-soviet artillery as can be manufactured alongside the shells for Challengers and Leopards. Despite the manufacturing and logistical challenges this strikes me as a speedier option than training pilots. (I also can't help but wonder how much suitable ammunition certain fence-sitting nations have in their stockpiles and whether the west can apply quiet diplomatic pressure.) It was good to see the longer range of the western artillery coming into play in the RFU video. Even though there is likely to be an element of propaganda in there it must further damage Russian morale.
  4. It was a challenge to decide how to rate your post, Schooner. In the end I opted for humour and a the successful divertion.
  5. Is there a case for supplying the Russian airforce with aircraft instead? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65344370
  6. A number of interesting points in today's posts above. Thank you all. A few thoughts have been circulating in my probably ill informed non-military bonce. So, if you don't mind, I'll throw them in here. I find the suggestion that Crimea might be easier to re-take than people suspect a believable one. The geography of southern Ukraine means that driving a wedge down to Melitopol, where there has been constant partisan activity I believe, would cut off Russia's land bridge to the area north of Crimea, damaging the Kerch bridge then leaves the occupiers with only ship-based supply lines. If Nova Kakhovka can also be retaken then Ukraine will, once again, be able to cut off the main water supply for Crimea. I'm not convinced by arguments in favour of giving Ukraine more advanced air power. Mainly due to the lead times rather than their ability to master them. The Russians don't appear to be able to use their aircraft and continuing to equip Ukraine with missiles which they already know how to use seems quicker and cheaper and would be especially appealing if the missile systems also increased the ability to defend against Russian missiles and drones. Finally, although the idea of resurrecting the Mongol empire has some appeal 🤪, it wouldn't solve the problem of Ukraine being invaded. They would simply have to learn Mongol (and throat singing) rather than Russian. I thought I would double-check my memory of where the Mongols stopped. Interestingly, it is remarkably similar to the western border of NATO.
  7. You're the professional, Phil, but I'd have thought you would get some better angles for your photos if you didn't put the layouts between pieces of cake.
  8. Several thicknesses of poplar available from here: https://www.lathamtimber.co.uk/products/panels/plywood/poplar-plywood
  9. To think, only a few decades ago we went to all the trouble of mandating high level brake lights so you got advance warning when a car several vehicles ahead braked and now you can hardly see beyond the ULV* in front. * Unnecessarily Large Vehicle.
  10. It took me a moment to realise what Americans mean by minivan. Not one of these.
  11. I cannot vouch for anything over the long term but I ran my A5 on a rolling road hooked up to a Duette for around an hour without any problems. One thing I did notice was that a slow start wasn't quite as slow as I would have hoped. We're not talking old Hornby 0-4-0 off like a rocket though and I assume it will improve once fully run in and controlled by something more up-to-date.
  12. Well, there's always rugby. Ah, Finland 31 : 6 Denmark. Perhaps not. Handball it is then!
  13. A nice idea. Perhaps you could also depart from an exact model of the photograph in another way and model the British flag the right way up! Aren't you tempted to add a Danish flag too?
  14. How many tries did they score?
  15. Don't trust him Robin. Next you'll be taking three days to drive a train from one end of ANTB to the other and there will be a mysterious crate in the goods yard. 😀
  16. There's always Foamex board. Lightweight and waterproof. It is used a lot for signs so I'd have thought it would also be available in France.
  17. This guy's YouTube videos might be of use. He's Australian, so I imagine he has the same access to products as you. https://www.youtube.com/@LukeTowan
  18. Enjoyed a bottle of that last year. Still can't pronounce it!
  19. Oban is a firm favourite of mine. If only it wasn't so expensive these days. I used to receive a bottle as a gift virtually every year but people have stopped buying it now that it has become so pricey. The last time I had a glass was a few years ago now. Oddly, at the end of an excellent meal in a small family restaurant in Rome. I was delighted to discover the only whisky on the drinks menu was Oban and for a very modest price my wife and I were served two of the largest largest glasses of spirits we'd ever seen. I'd estimate them to have been quadruples! Fortunately, it was less than a kilometre to the appartment, particularly since I had to help my wife finish her cognac too. (I slept well.) I have a suspicion, based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever, they have put the price up and increased the amount they export to the USA where there are more people with too much money.
  20. I'd given up on this. Nice surprise!
  21. If I was TMC I'd be tempted to suggest you get one of each. 😁
  22. Have you tried deleting your Recently Viewed items to see if that cures the problem?
