Edge
Just been on Facebook and had a picture pop up from Jason at Rapido. In its intro, Jason asks us to have a look and see what new Rapido products we can spot For myself, that doesn't look like a Stirling Single to me... Previously unnancounced? Definitely British, Eastern and an Atlantic though Edited September 18, 2017 by Edge

Steamport Southport
That looks like a Bachmann C1 to me. The C2 had a smaller boiler with taller boiler fittings. https://www.lner.info/locos/C/c2.php Jason
woodenhead
Why would Rapido have a Bachmann engine in bits on their table?

Steamport Southport
Why would Rapido have a Bachmann engine in bits on their table? Probably comparing them? I don't know. But if they are making a new C1 then I can't see the point seeing as there is a perfectly good one available. Jason
JSpencer
The Bachmann atlantic C1 is exclusive to the NRM, I bet they have one (or part of one) to get a colour match for the Stirling single (assuming we see the GNR A1 and not one in LNER apple green!).

Making sure that the National Collection in Miniature models have a consistent shade of GNR green would be quite nice... Not sure why it'd be in bits though. Steamport Southport
Yes. That seems more plausible. I think we are reading too much into this. Jason

Ahh yes, looked again and realised the bodyshell is GNR style not LNER safety valves
The Black Hat
Interesting looking at the two boilers behind... Not sure what they could be on. But look like something with splashers coming close to the boiler body. Agree its very probably a complete tangent.

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted September 18, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 18, 2017 Well I can see two Stirling boilers and a tender chassis, Alco FA and their grain hoppers. I guess the Bachmann body is gor colour reference as mentioned above and may be a decoration sample Locomotion had from that project and shared with Rapido? RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted September 18, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 18, 2017 Ah a third Stirling boiler over on his left unpainted too. The smokebox and cylinder shroud is a giveaway

Gerald Henriksen
WOW. Just to be clear, confirmed it was existing model to be used for colour matching, not a Rapido product.
luke_stevens
Rapido Trains CEO (inflatable, comes with 13 different expression face masks), sound equipped, limited edition one-off run, NOW ON FULL CLEARANCE SALE!!!! Just for clarification the last item is on full clearance sale as neither the off switch not the volume control work... (Love his enthusiasm really!) Willie Whizz
Right, so the way ahead is still clear for a different Atlantic then! A Great Central 'Jersey Lily' would be good - Rapido like a challenge, and those stupendous curves would certainly be that. (In my dreams ...)
