RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) That 30A 'plate' was painted on. :-) Looking at my original slide blown up it looks like the fixing bolts are there, so maybe painted over the filthy original plate? The smokebox numberplate also looks too clean compared to the rest of the loco, which is in an as withdrawn stored for three plus years state. ParkeNd
Not really a locomotive, more like some locomotives - but all connected as a triple header.

Peppercorn
In Regensburg, in a kind of semi-closed glass case attached to the public convenience situated between a ring road and the Danube is located this little beauty. Metre gauge, in nice condition, is 99 253 is an 0-6-2T with flangeless middle drivers that appeared wider than the flanged wheels either side. Owing to the glass case, she was actually rather difficult to photograph.

ParkeNd
The Great Marquess at Bridgnorth on the SVR about 1993 ish. Taken on a Nikon FE and scanned recently on a Nikon Coolscan IV with Silverfast SE software. But well beaten by digital I have to say.
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted September 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 20, 2015 A few from around Haworth shed on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, 19th September 2015. With early Autumn colours starting to show in the trees, United States of America Transportation Corp. class S160 No. 5820 heads passed the shed with the 16.35 to Oxenhope... while 4F 43924 simmers away gently... and Diesel shunters No. 32 'Huskisson' (Mersey Docks & Harbour Board) and No. 23 'Merlin' (Bristol Port Authority) rest next to the shed... as Waggon & Maschinebrau diesel railbus M79964 grinds slowly by out of the shed.
bike2steam
A familiar rumble was heard coming down the road past our house, so I grabbed the camera, and took a look, fortunately it stopped outside for a water replenishment - well it is a road locomotive. http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/William_Allchin Edited September 27, 2015 by bike2steam
Bon Accord
A few from yesterday. SIR LAMIEL on the demonstration line at Shildon. This is the first time I've seen a King Arthur in the flesh and quite a striking beast she looked in her SR green. The Stirling Single and 4771 were outside for inspection, and to my surprise the Super D was also in residence. My knowledge of Southern Region multiple units is somewhat limited, but is this a 2 EPB? This vehicle was in the restoration area whilst it's partner trailer was in one of the middle roads in unrestored condition. 60163 rolls into Durham on time with the return working of "The Silver Jubilee Talisman". The rest of the train before it departed South.

Peppercorn
A couple more for your delectation; apologies for the quality...one day I'll improve. Hopefully. There's a class 31 at Kings X looking like it's either just backing down onto a train composed of BR suburbans. A nice, sunny day. Then a class 40 at, I think, Scarborough (but it could be Whitby) in the summer of '78. Either I, or the processor, cut off the rhs buffer. Thirdly, years before either of these, a shot in York roundhouse i either '64 or '66. Lots of camera shake, I'm afraid, but it manages, I think, to capture the atmosphere of the time. I hope the railwaymen weren't smoking as it will have been bad for them... Hope you enjoy them, Cliff

Peppercorn
An old, old shot, this, at Willesden MPD in Autumn 1963 on a dull day (they always were, I seem to remember) taken with a Kodak box camera. As a bad workman, I'll just say that I think that camera was cr*p. But, on the other hand, it was probably the boy behind the camera wot's to blame. It does kind of show it how it was, though.
